Clary sat rigidly on her throne as Sebastian paced inside his circle of darkened runes. Every once in a while he would pause to look up at her and smile the sort of uninhibited, gleeful smile she associated with the Sebastian from her vision, the boy with guiltless green eyes. He drew a long, elegant dagger from his belt as she watched, and ran the blade across the the inside of his palm. His head fell back, his eyes half closing, as he stretched his hand out and drops of his ruby-red blood spattered the runes.
Each began to glow as the blood struck it. Clary pressed herself against the solid back of the throne. The runes were not Gray Book runes; they were alien and strange.
Clary jumped as Amatis strode in, followed by two lines of silent Endarkened warriors. The woman looked concerned as her eyes slid past Jace, motionless on the floor, to focus on her white haired master. "Lord Sebastian," she said. "Your mother is not in her cell."
Clary's brother frowned and tightened his bleeding hand into a fist. The runes circling him were burning with a cold, icy blue flame. "How vexing," he said. "The others must have let her out."
Clary felt a surge of hope, but that was soon replaced by another wave of terror, mixed with a tiny drop of... was that annoyance? She forced herself to forget about it, and remained silent. "Would you like the rest of your army to go searching for them?" Asked Amatis, a cruel twist appearing on her lips.
"There's no need for that." He looked up at Clary again, and smiled. "The borders to this world that they could access are closing. I will bring them to me." Behind Clary, the two windows cracked, splintering into a web of spindling lines.

Okay, yes, the chapters will be pretty short. And I'm sorry about that. But, there's nothing I could do, really. Honestly, I've seen shorter.
What else do I need to put in here? I don't know. If you enjoyed this chapter, don't forget to vote! Please, no ghost readers. Thank you!
