The darkness had taken her.
The light in Clary faded as she pulled away from her brother, regarding him with a raised eyebrow. "Jace still kisses better," she said, as Sebastian looked stunned. She turned to face the rest of the hall, and was met with Jace's broken gaze.
Jace POV
I rose and stumbled towards the petite redhead standing on the dais, only to be met with four drawn swords pressed against my throat. "Cla-ry?" I choked out as her eyes met mine. Her beautiful, emerald orbs darkening into a rich, forest green. Nearly black. This place must have turned her. If so, I realised, then I'm in danger too.
Regular POV
Clary smiled cruelly as Amatis rose and assigned three Endarkened women to her personal staff. A rune flashed in front of her eyes. She stepped forwards, drawing her stele and approaching the burning marks on the floor. She delicately stepped over the border and draws her new rune in the middle. She could sense power flowing into her, and Sebastian, from his small gasp, could feel it too. Now only those with demonic alliance and the ability to bear angelic runes could create dimensional portals.
She looked up as a commotion ensued and the ones she had come with ran out the door, Jace stumbling every so often. The Endarkened were about to chase after them when she spoke. "Leave them," she ordered. "None of them pose any threat."
