CH.5 - School Troubles

Era: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem (after movie)

Summary: Mikey gets bullied (I plan on making a prt.2 where his brothers find out)

A/N: I just started public high school on the 7th and don't have much knowledge about the subject so this may not be very accurate. As the school year progresses I might make edits to make this as realistic as I can. This will also be based on the public school experience in New York because both I and the turtles go to a New York school so don't expect many conservatives/republicans (New York is a primarily liberal state).

no one said starting high school as a mutant turtle would be easy, but no one warned him about how tough it would really be. Mikey has always been the type of person to see the good over the bad, whether or not that was a good or bad thing for him. He understood that when someone is mean it is often because they're jealous or afraid and don't know how to express it otherwise. Humans were afraid of mutants so they were naturally in fight/flight mode when they saw them at Times Square as kids, it may not make it right but he could understand.

Mikey's POV:

"Oi nerd," Jackson, a student in my English class, called grabbing my shoulder and by golly does this man have a strong grip

"I think you're looking for my brother, he's in bio right now," I say pointing to a random classroom, Jackson's been bothering me for a bit, just some light teasing, but I try my best to avoid him.

"You know who I'm talking to dumbass," harsh, he grabs my wrist pulling me across the hall, I need to de-escalate the situation. What works better than some humor? Time to pull out my Mikey charm~

"Woah! By me dinner first," I say a smirk painted on my face. Even if he does pull something I can get out of it, I'm a ninja for Christ's sake! He quickly lets go of my wrist but latches onto my shirt, I just bought this one too, please don't mess it up with your sweaty hands.

"Come on we're grabbing lunch," he grunts. Maybe he just wants to be friends? Yeah...he's probably like Raph and shows his interest through aggression. He's probably better suited to be Raph's friend then, but hey the more friends the merrier I guess.

"Ok well, can we get some pizza? Preferably pepperoni," I say as we walk out the doors, he doesn't answer. Guess it's gonna be a surprise?

We walk about 5 minutes before he leads me to an alleyway, this is definitely not a pizza place. There are a couple of other people there, some juniors but mostly seniors. He lets go of my shirt and roughly pushes me into the ally, I manage to catch myself before I fall and get into a fighting stance. These guys want a fight? I'll give it to them.

"Ah ah ah, we can't have any of that," One of them says pulling out his phone and pressing record "How do you think people will react knowing you, a ruthless mutant, attacked a helpless human?" My body tenses for a second, I loosen my stance and put my arms up in surrender.

"Okay, okay, what do you guys want?" I ask my eyes darting around trying to gather as much information as I can, there are 3 guys (-Jackson) visible and I can sense 2 more keeping watch, "If you wanted an autograph you could've just asked"

"We want justice," A big guy with a blonde buzzcut sneered, getting up from where he was sitting and starts circling me, I relax slightly. If they wanted help with something they didn't have to be so creepy about it

"Justice? Well that's great I'm a hero! Who do I need to save?" I remarked puffing my chest out slightly, it feels nice knowing people need me.

"Hero?" he laughs but it sounds more like a question, like he's surprised I called myself a hero

"I did kinda save the world...so yeah?" I said nerves leaking out a bit, I wasn't trying to be funny so why is he laughing?

"This fag thinks he's a hero!" He barked making everyone laugh along, whats a 'fag'? It sounds bad. I'll Google it later. I see his hands move to give me a jab to the stomach, before I can dodge two hands grab me from behind holding me in place. Ughhhhhhh this is so frustrating I wish I could fight back. His hand collides with my stomach, I won't lie, it hurts, but I've dealt with worse.

"You're no hero, thanks to you and your brothers my mom's dead!" Buzz Boy adds, What..? Dead? That's not true- We saved the world. Superfly did all the damage, not us. "You're going to pay for all the lives you ruined," Another hit, uppercut straight to the jaw making my teeth sink into my lip the metallic taste of blood slowly filling my mouth. That's gonna leave a bruise.

Walmart Eminiem notices my shocked expression and decides it's time for another round. The punches keep coming till I can't stand on my own and am just being held up by whoever is behind me. He strategically avoided my face and only hit me where teachers wouldn't notice. He's smarter than he looks.

I get thrown onto the disgusting New York City ground, palms scraping while trying to blunt the fall. I stay down for a couple of seconds, the ground is comforting it reminds me that the world isn't really spinning and it's just my head, but I can't stay down forever. I'm no coward and I won't let them think that of me. I push myself up and lean against the building next to me, my hand goes to rub the blood from my busted lip.

"That all you got?" I scoffed, I knew I couldn't take them alone especially with the whole shell-cracking thing only being a couple months ago but if they know I'm scared they won't ever leave me alone. Jackson walks toward me, I can hear my heartbeat increase, my eyes flick back and forth, shoulders quickly rise and fall. I can't fight, what do I do?

"Before I knock you out I just gotta make one thing clear, if anyone, your dad, brothers, or even o'puke find out about this not only are you dead meat but they are too. It shouldn't take much to make humans turn on you again" he hisses giving me a nasty right hook, black spots dance in my vision and everything goes dark.

Feel too tired to add more atm but basically the bullying just continues getting worse, also the reason they called him the f slur is cuz he's in the drama club which a lot of gay ppl tend to be a part of
