Her feet slapped harshly against the ground as she ran, kicking up dirt onto her legs. That didn't matter to her though. Long black strands were grabbed by a tree branch and as fearful eyes glanced back,

SWOOSH!

Thin locks of ebony hues flew away, caught in the current of wind. The girl took off once more, desperate to get away. She thought she was strong. he was stronger. Those red and yellow eyes would haunt her dreams, that is, if she could make it out alive.

"Run faster, Mina! He's gaining on you." The Uchiha could vaguely hear those words against the force of the loud wind that whipped against her ears. How had that simple mission turned into a nightmare in mere seconds?

********

Mina walked through the large forest with a soft smile on her face. As usual, her escort mission had gone well. Her outlook would have been different had she turned around to see that the princess she was escorting was slaughtered as soon as her back was turned, but she didn't know yet, so this mission had gone well in her mind.

The girl was all smiles until her lips turned down to a grimace. She was being followed. Her dark purple eyes took in the trees around her, looking for the stalker.

"Who's there?" she called out, pupils darting around the foliage frantically as she got into a defensive stance. Mina's eyes widened as she flew backward and harshly hit a tree, a strangled cough escaping her. She had no time to dodge.

Her lips parted as a man walked out from the shadow the trees created. He looked strange -or rather, unnatural with grey-tinted skin, dark grey hair, and wings, but his most notable feature in the abundance of monotone were his eyes: yellow sclera and red iris. Before she could observe the cracks that littered his skin, she leaped away from the tree and into the center of the clearing upon noticing three other figures blocking all exits. They all looked distinctly like the first guy, but she couldn't tell if they were clones or not. Activating her Sharingan, she glanced at the figures wearily.

"Uchiha Minako. Dear, dear, sweet Minako." the first guy spoke mockingly. The girl frowned and as they all came at her with varying attacks, she erupted into a flurry of crows, reforming on a tree branch. She would need higher ground to beat these guys.

"I'm surprised you don't remember me. I'm almost hurt," he whined, not even facing her. Her instincts told her that he knew where she was. "I've gotten a hold of my emotions now, HAHAHA!" Mina furrowed her eyebrows until she remembered something...something that happened some three years ago.

*********

-Flashback in Flashback-

"Why don't you get a hold of yourself! You call yourself a shinobi, but here you are letting your emotions cloud your judgment. You're pathetic!" Her voice held an angry calm tone that made Roku shiver in fear.

-Flashback in Flashback End-

***********

"You! You're that Suna nin from the Chunin exams?" Mina questioned in slight confusion. What the hell had happened to this guy?

The man threw his head back and cackled in such a way that it sent shivers down her spine. The roles reversed, it seemed. Mina stiffened as his red eyes landed on her.

"I am so glad you remembered me, Mina-chan~" The girl scowled and threw a fireball at him. To her astonishment he stood still, allowing the scorching heat to engulf him. She took that moment  of distraction to weave hand signs, but before she could finish-

Her eyes widened as she quickly jumped away from the fireball flying in her direction. Her own fireball.

"What the hell?!" Mina had never seen a jutsu like that before. Cackling caught her attention as she allowed her eyes to form that unique design, a scowl on her face. The guy, Roku- the real one, casually walked toward her, that cocky bastard.

"You like my new jutsu, Mi-na~? I got stronger just for you! I'm even stronger than Uchiha Madara himself now!" Roku's red pupils dilated as he proclaimed his strength. The Uchiha's nose scrunched up in disdain.

"Mina, that's highly unlikely," Itachi noted as he took in the situation that his daughter was in. The appearance of this crazed man strongly reminded him of Sasuke's old curse mark form.

Mina said nothing as she held out her tanto sword, allowing for it to crackle to life as lightning engulfed it. She ran toward him, and as she jumped in the air and brought it down as quick as a clap of thunder, the blade stopped. She gasped in pain as the sharp blade exploded, hot pieces of metal flying in her direction, and yet, Roku stood there unharmed.

The Uchiha jumped away and looked at her hand, all that was left of her tanto was the handle and the insignia. She leaped back again as a kunai forced her to drop it.

"Dammit." Mina cursed as she used the back of her hand to wipe away blood that was dripping from her wounds. Itachi materialized beside her.

"Summon your Susanoo and then summon a messenger crow to call for backup." He instructed with urgency, keeping an eye on the still-grinning man. Mina nodded and though she had never used it, she willed the guardian to form around her.

The pink half-body of a giant skeletal woman wrapped around Mina like a shield protecting a warrior. She could only bring forth half of the Susanoo, but it would have to do. As smoke surrounded her from creating the large being, she used the advantage to summon a crow-

CRACK

Both she and Itachi gaped as cracks began to form around the Susanoo. Mina quickly waved the crow away, but as he flew away from the shield, something flew at him.

"NO!" She cried out as she watched her crow fall with a pained caw. A feeling that she hadn't felt since the incident began to fill her gut. Fear. She heard her father call her name as her Susanoo completely shattered and used the distraction to run, despite her eyes screaming for her to deactivate her Mangekyou. He was too strong. She was going to die.

**********

The girl glanced back to see three figures chasing her. An unsettling feeling filled her as she had yet to spot the fourth one-

"Mina! Look out!" The warning came too late as something collided with her from the front, knocking her from the tree. She let out a pained gasp as the wind was knocked out of her. Without warning, a fist came toward her face and she was out like a light.
