The ebony haired girl sat up and stretched as sunlight leaked through her bedroom curtain kissing her skin in a golden glow. Before she could get out of bed, her door sprung open and a blur of black flew onto her. Mina let out an 'oof' and caught what, or rather who, flew at her.

"Good mornin', Nee-chan! Mama told me to come wake you." Mina chuckled as her little sister's wide onyx eyes stared back at her with sparkles in them, as if the older girl was her whole world, which to Sarada, she was. The five year old climbed over her older sister and laid down beside her, cuddling into her warmth.

"You're home early. How was Chōchō's?" Mina questioned as she got out of bed and threw her hair into a high ponytail, letting her bangs frame her face. She didn't have anything planned and didn't have the patience to do her two perfect twin tails, so she stuck with something simple.

"It was fun! We played lots of games and Chōchō's mama made us cookies!" the two girl's continued to converse as they made their way down stairs with Mina still clad in her oversized shirt and shorts and Sarada in her shirt, tie, and skirt.

"You're up late today, Mi-chan." Sakura exclaimed, smiling over her shoulder as she prepared lunch. Her long pink hair was in a low ponytail.

"Yeah. Sorry, Mom. I was exhausted from the test I had to do for my summoning." the girl exclaimed, rubbing her neck sheepishly.

"Oh? What animal did you form a contract with?" the woman inquired as she stirred the warm, bubbling food.

"I signed a contract with the crows! Father had crows as his summoning as well." Mina explained even though Sarada was in the room. The five year old had no idea what they were talking about anyway. Sakura hummed as she thought back to the few times she had seen Itachi.

"He did, didn't he?" It was rhetorical.

Sarada walked up to Sakura while the woman was doing the dishes. Nearby, Mina sat in a bar stool and was munching on some lunch that had just been finished. It was homemade miso ramen, made perfectly to her liking.

"Hey, when is papa coming home?" Sakura frowned as she continued her task by the sink.

"He's out doing really difficult work, so he can't come home right away." Sarada looked down at her feet, her small hands clutching the bottom of her dress.

"Doesn't papa care about you, nee-chan, and me?" Sakura crouched down to be face to face with the smaller girl. Mina's amethyst eyes stayed locked on the scene as she watched with interest from the kitchen bar that she was sat at.

"Sarada," Sakura started, seriousness written in her eyes. "Papa treasures the three of us very dearly. You may not get it right now," the woman glanced at Mina's now-standing-form from the corner of her eye for a moment, "but I know one day you'll understand." Mina nodded in agreement to that statement as she already knew that her papa's work was highly important and difficult. She didn't know what he was doing, but knew it was something to protect the village. The pink haired woman grabbed the two girls and hugged them until they both complained about it being too tight, so she let go and apologized sheepishly.

"Mama, have you ever kissed papa?" Sarada asked while she rubbed her eye with a small smile. Even Mina looked to their mother, intrigued to hear her response.

"Huh?!" the woman pondered the question before blushing a bit. This made the five-year-old even more interested.

"What?! What?!"

"Nothing...I was just thinking of something even better." Sakura smiled at the two girls, but both their faces turned to a disgusted look.

"Mom, that's gross!" Mina exclaimed with her sister nodding in agreement.

"No, nothing like that!" the woman waved her hands, chuckling nervously. While wondering how her children knew about that.

"Then tell us! What's better than a kiss?!" Sakura chuckled and poked her youngest daughter's forehead with her index and middle fingers.

"I'll tell you next time. I think you'll understand when you see your papa." The woman smiled and winked at her nine-year-old, who smiled brightly, placing a hand over her own forehead. Mina stood up and placed her hand on her younger sister's head much to the younger's joy, before walking off toward her room to work on some homework for the academy.

Author-chan's F̶u̶n̶ ̶F̶a̶c̶t̶ Inquiry: Author-chan questions how young Sarada knew what Sakura meant by being even better than a kiss.
