IT WAS YET ANOTHER boring day for you and the Monkie Kids. Mk was away to train with Monkey King as usual, he left you in his room since you were still asleep, believing that you might sleep for a long time again. However, he was wrong this time.
Anyway, you were just minding your own business in the room you shared with Mk, doing nothing in particular. You huffed in boredom as you waved your legs in the air, humming a lullaby your mother used to sing for you and your siblings. You missed them so much... especially Tanjiro. Your brother did everything in his well to save you, but unfortunately the cure didn't work as your body was far too long in the process of the demonic development unlike Tanjiro who only turned into a demon for less than a day, the cure had worked on him. However, you were at least happy that he had saved the world from the evil demons.
You were deep in thought that you didn't notice a portal opening underneath you until you were sucked into it. You let out a muffled scream before you were taken somewhere else. You hit a solid ground and groaned in pain before sitting up, you immediately recognized this dojo. You jumped and prepared yourself for any unexpected attack. Just then...
"Whoa! Calm down, will ya?"
You turned around and were met face to face with none other than Macaque. You growled as your eyes turned into slits which made Macaque raise an eyebrow, "Chill out, plums. I'm not gonna hurt you. In fact, you have caught my interest." He said, giving you a sly smirk. You weren't convinced to trust him at all yet, especially after what he had done to Mk. Macaque held his hands up in the air, "Look, I'm not armed. It won't be fair if you attack me now, right?" He questioned with a serious tone. You stared at him for a few seconds before you calmed down, but you kept your guards up. Macaque smiled and lowered his hands down, "That wasn't hard, wasn't it?" He said in a teasing manner.
You huffed in annoyance, indicating that you weren't pleased with his way of treating you. The shadow monkey chuckled at the adorable action, "Well, to be frank with you, I'm really surprised to see an oni still alive." He amused as he slowly approached you. You tilted your head in confusion, "Hmm?" You hummed, your eyes turning into dots. Macaque crossed his arms, "You know, your kind no longer exists. They were all eliminated by those demon slayers." He told you with a raised eyebrow. You perked up when he said that, pointing at yourself while nodding your head. Macaque took a moment to understand what you were trying to indicate.
"Wait, you were with them?"
"Mhm!! Mmm!"
You nodded rapidly, giving him an eye-closed smile. The dark furred monkey chuckled again, "Well, looks like I'm with a witness of the great battle, ay? That was unexpected." He stated and went to lean against the wall. You blinked your eyes for a few moments while tilting your head. For some reason, you can sense something good in him... but he was hiding it in this fake facade. You wondered why he was doing this, but you didn't question it. You made your way toward him, standing right in front of him.
"Hmm? What's wro-..." Macaque was cut off when you leaned your face closer to his.
You locked your pink eyes with his golden ones, making Macaque slightly uncomfortable. You hummed happily before petting his head, taking him off guard. Macaque slightly blushed and held your wrist to pull it away, "Okay, this is enough head pats." He said as he kept his gaze away from yours. You hummed once he let go of your wrist, smiling behind the muzzle. Macaque let out a sigh, "You're really strange, bright eyes." He spoke up again with a serious look on his face. You blinked and tilted your head to the side again, "I mean, demons like you are known to be aggressive and evil to the humans, but you... you're different. You're friendly and helpful, what made you act against your nature?" He asked you, standing straight.
You hummed with a nod of your head. You then crouched down and used your nail to engrave a single word on the wooden floor. Macaque kneeled down to see the word you wrote only for his eyes to widen in utter surprise.
Brother.
That was what you wrote on the floor. You then pointed at the word then placed your hand on your chest right where your heart is. Macaque had a blank look as he stared at you, "Your brother? You became like this... for your brother?" He questioned as he stood up, you could indicate sadness in his voice. You frowned as you stood up, "Hmph! Mhm!" You hummed, trying to cheer him up. Just before Macaque could say anything, you heard people scream outside. You turned to the source of voice and ran to the door and opened it. Your eyes widened when you saw the bull clones chasing after the citizens. You were about to go and help them, but Macaque grabbed your arms.
"Don't go! They are not normal."
"Hmm!"
You quickly pulled your arm and ran to help the people, ignoring Macaque's warning. The monkey frowned as he decided to return to his dojo, he can feel something ominously familiar about the aura of those clones. He wasn't going to risk it... not now anyways.
