❝Hmm! Mhm!❞

YOU WERE NEAR THE river with Mk, Mei, and Sandy to get your brother to gain his powers back. Tang and Pigsy were picking up the stuff of the camp while Wukong returned to meditate.

"Okay, MK. It's time. Time to look inward. Time to reclaim the power. Time to shout out till the whole world hears-..."

"Here comes Monkie Kid!"

Mk started to scream as a way to summon his powers back while you three cheered him on, but he ended up letting out a fart accidentally. Mei and Sandy laughed a bit while you just looked at him with dotted eyes, "I can't do it." Your brother complained and threw himself on the ground. You hummed and sat beside him, petting his shoulder assuringly. Mei approached and looked down at her friend, "It's all right, MK. You did it before, you'll do it again." She stated as she leaned forward slightly. Sandy nodded in agreement to what Mei said, "Yeah. Maybe it's like Monkey King said. The power will come when you need it most." He added in hopes to cheer Mk up.

Your brother sighed and sat up, "But what use am I if I can't be sure my powers are gonna work?  And Gold Vision?  That's like the baby power. And I can't even do that. I'm not even as good as a baby. So what about 72 transformations, or duplication, or shrinking. Or- how am I meant to fight the Lady Bone Demon?" He exclaimed and looked down at the river, seeing his reflection.

"Hmm..." You let out a sad hum as you watched Mk about to give up on regaining his abilities. Mei placed her hand on your shoulder then smiled before going to Mk, "That's why we're going to find those fancy-pantsy rings, yo. Light her up with Samadhi Fire, bing, bang, boom." She exclaimed in excitement, wrapping her arm around his shoulder.

"Hey, you three, we're leaving!" You three heard Tang call out.

"Tang, don't just yell, I could do that!" Pigsy retorted in anger.

Mk looked at direction of the sound then at you with a smile, "Oh. We better go, come on Y/N." He said and held your hand, taking you with him. However, Mei stopped you, "Wrong way, MK. They already pulled up. Get a move on." You turned back and saw the van right behind you. You were puzzled as to how the van got here this fast. You were sure you heard Tang's voice coming from the other, when did the van reach here? Although it wasn't right, you decided to follow your brother to the back of the van.

During the drive, Mk noticed something strange. Beside the fact that both Pigsy and Tang were oddly quiet, the van was going the wrong direction. It was supposed to head to the west, but you were in fact heading east. Mo the cat was also missing which really concerned Sandy, Wukong who was supposed to be meditating wasn't in the van too.

When Mk checked the front seats, he was shocked that the van was moving on its own, "Hmph?" You hummed, feeling worried about your friends. Mei agreed with you, "Yeah, something weird is going on. Where are the others?" She asked and searched all over the van, but found nothing.

"Sandy? Did you build this van to drive itself?"

"Oh, I wish."

"So that's a no. Should we probably stop it?" Mei suggested as she pointed at the steering wheel with a smile.

Suddenly, the lights started to turn on and off. Both Mei and Mk got scared and clung to Sandy. From the corner of your eyes, you saw something moving. You took a step forward, but you felt that your feet sink in something. Before you could react, you were pulled down into the darkness.

"Y/N!" You heard both Mei and Mk scream your name.

Shadowy ropes wrapped around your frame, preventing you from moving. You let out muffled screams while pulling on those ropes, but to no avail. A few moments later, Mei and Sandy were with you, "Y/N, you're here too." Mei spoke up first and was about to go to you, but she and Sandy had the same ropes around her as you. The two of them continued to struggle yet nothing worked, "We need to get to Mk and quick, he might be in danger." Sandy stated, using all his might to break free, but the results were the same.

You frowned in anger and digged your nail into your palms to draw blood. Pink flames surrounded your body, burning the ropes holding you back. You quickly rushed to your friends and did the same, holding your hands to use your demon blood art. The two of them were now free from their restraints, "Thanks Y/N, you really did save us." Sandy told you, giving you a pat on your head. Mei smiled at you before pulling out her sword, "Let's go and help Mk." With that being said, she brought out her dragon avatar, using it to get you out of this darkness. She in fact succeeded, but the van was completely destroyed.

Mei stood up with a very serious look on her face and her eyes flashing green, but she was interrupted when Mk hugged her, "Mei. That was amazing." He exclaimed happily upon seeing you all being alright. The dragon girl smirked in confidence, "Yeah. I might have picked up a little something from my great uncie, Dragon of the East." She said while spinning her sword.

Meanwhile, you saw Macaque standing there... You felt kind of betrayed when you saw him fighting your brother. You thought he was good, but he was attacking Mk... again. You didn't want to believe that he was doing this, but this was reality. Macaque turned to look at you, seeing the betrayal in your pink eyes. He sighed and looked away, "The Lady asked me to bring Mk and Y/N. But she didn't say anything about you two." He said that with an evil smirk, summoning his smoke monster. He then brings the pieces of the broken van to build his Mech before bringing his fist down on you.

Thankfully, Sandy was there and held Macaque's metal fist back, "I don't want to fight. But I can't let you hurt my friends." Sandy tried to say, but he was struggling to hold back.

"Oh, you can't, can you?"

Macaque opened his fist and grabbed Sandy, slamming him down, "Kids, run!" The blue guy yelled. Mei got really frustrated and powered up, bringing her dragon back and jumping high. She shot a green beam at Macaque, hitting the mech's core. However, the shadow monkey rebuild the Mech quickly and then grabbed Mei as well, her dragon disappearing. It was now only you and Mk.

"What heroes. Two friends about to be crushed, and you two do nothing?"

"Let them go. You can take me, I don't care. Just let them go. Leave Y/N too, you want me."

"Or what? You aren't the Monkie Kid anymore. Your powers are gone. Your staff's gone! You're nothing!"

You stood there with shock, not believing that the monkey who once was a bit nice to you was being extremely evil. What was worse was the fact that he was working with the Lady Bone Demon and he was tasked to bring you and Mk to her. You snapped out of your thoughts when Mk jumped up and transformed into an eagle. Macaque tried to punch Mk, but your brother was dodging his attacks. You knew he was distracting him. You decided to use this opportunity and give Macaque a blow that would keep him down until you escape.

You leaped high in the air and launched yourself at Macaque's Mech, aiming at his X-shaped eye. You used your shap nails and slashed his eyes, your slash followed by flames. Macaque screamed in agony, "Get off!" He exclaimed and dropped both Mei and Sandy. Mk got them in time and flew away with them. You gave Macaque one last look, before using your full speed to follow your friends.

You still hated the fact that Macaque was working with the enemy, but you hoped that he had a reason to do that.
