YOUR PEACEFUL SLEEP was disturbed by both Mei and Mk training in the desert near the dronecopter. They decided to train here in order to avoid destroying buildings in the city which was in fact a good idea. You needn't train since you gain energy through sleeping, plus you know how to fight pretty good. Thus, training was your least concern right now.
It took them a few minutes to complete their training, but you could tell that Mk was controlling his powers very well. Right now, you were sitting beside Mk and Mei as they rested after an intense training, "You totally get the hang of this mystic monkey business." Mei spoke up with a proud smile on her face. Mk laughed and scratched his head, "Aww, thanks, Mei." Your brother said, feeling happy that he was making a process. Suddenly, Mei started to make a prideful speech about Mk.
"Monkey kid! Master of staff, master of clones! Grow big big or too small! Hero of the universe! Hero being smart enough to move the training session out here so we stop smidgen the city real bad! We've got this, Boi! Right, Y/N?"
"Hmm!"
You hummed with a smile while giving her a thumb up. Mk and Mei laughed together happily, "Soon, Monkey King won't even need to come back from his vacation." Mei stated and then laughed loudly. However, you could see Mk looking at his cup sadly upon mentioning Monkey King. You hummed again and gave him a head pat. You knew what he was thinking about and didn't want him to think that he won't be able to stop her. Mei noticed this and raised an eyebrow at him, but your brother quickly covered it up and laughed, "Oh! Uh, yeah. Guess you're right." He said nervously, hoping that Mei won't suspect his change of behavior.
"Oh-ho! Snack break!"
Thankfully, Pigsy's call shifted everyone's attention to him. Your friends rushed to take a bowl to eat his delicious noodles. Everything was fine and you all were enjoying your time. However, happiness cannot last. An explosion happened followed by a blue light shooting from the ground. You growled while your friends watched with shock, "That's probably not good." Mei spoke up as her bowl flew on Mk's face.
Everyone rushed forward to watch what was happening, you all could see a Mech emerging from the ground. Mk got a sudden headache and groaned which concerned you, "Hmph. Mhm?" You hummed as you held his hand. Mk forced a smile on his face and looked at you, "Hey, I'm fine, Y/N. There's nothing to be worried about." He tried to assure you before looking to the mech.
"Spider Queen?" Mei asked while slightly freaking out. Mk took a step forward and placed his foot on the railing of the dronecopter, "No, it's something... worse." As he said that, your brother launched toward the Mech. You called out to him and went to follow him, but you were held by Sandy, "Calm down, Y/N. Mk can handle this, he is strong." He told you, but you refused and looked at Mk. You knew who was behind this and feared for his safety.
All of you watched as Mk dashed toward the Mech. He went to punch it and succeeded, but a blue symbol appeared and made him fall down. You pushed Sandy and jumped off the dronecopter, rushing to help your brother. Mk stood up just as the Mech leaped in the air. He tried to summon his powers, but it was difficult. The Mech slammed down on Mk which made you stop in place, your eyes widened in fright. You thought that Mk was gone, that leap was definitely deadly.
Suddenly, a bright gold light shot from the Mech and it got destroyed as Mk emerged in his large form. You were happy that he was okay, but your happiness was short lived when the same blue circle appeared under his feet which made him shrink and return to his normal size. You ran to his side and crouched beside him, "Hmm!" You hummed in concern, trying to get a better look at his face. Mk looked at you and forced a smile, "Don't worry, I'm alright." He assured you, giving your hand a light squeeze.
The two of you heard your friends cheering for Mk after defeating the Mech. However, Tang knew that there was something wrong, "Ah, Mk? I get the feeling you're not telling us something." He pointed out seriously. You and Mk exchanged glances before letting out a sigh, "A few weeks ago, I met someone..." As your brother started speaking, the four of them gave him a smug look, completely misunderstanding what Mk was talking about. You huffed in annoyance and glared at them while Mk screamed at them, "No! Not like...!" He quickly calmed down and proceeded to explain what happened.
"Remember when we fought DBK, I said he was different. And Spider Queen attacked and she was stronger. Me and Y/N were trying to protect you, keep it a secret, but it was all this girl."
As Mk exclaimed, you felt an ominous presence in the air. You growled and looked to the direction where this feeling was coming from, "She calls herself..." Mk continued, but he stopped when you and him felt her presence becoming stronger after the sudden change in the atmosphere.
"The Lady Bone Demon."
You were face to face with the girl who was behind all these problems in the city. She was smirking at you in a mischievous way, as if she knew she was going to win this fight. You oddly got the feeling that she was going to be one of the big threats to this world.
