5. Lauren's birthday

LAUREN awoke to Flowers lined up at the bottom of her bed, she smiled widely as she sat up grabbing the card and reading it "happy birthday baby, I'm so glad I get to celebrate your twenty fight birthday with you! I love you enjoy these flowers but don't worry I've got more gifts for you and so many plans to make your day great!, love Colby." Lauren smiled as she sat the card down and got up moving the Flowers into the Vase on her dresser.

Lauren opened her drawer and pulled out her outfit she decided to wear her white Dress and fluffy jacket, she curled her hair and put on makeup before throwing on her heels as she made her way downstairs she could hear everyone talking, Lauren made it to the bottom of the step and everyone got quiet.

Lauren stepped down "guys?" Lauren asked as she turned to face everyone, Sam held a huge smile While Colby walked over to her "come on." He said as he led her to the living room "Kat wanna tell her the plan?" Colby asked "we're taking you out for dinner, But that's not all that's gonna happen." Katrina said smiling.

Lauren smiled "now hold up you look so good baby." Colby said as he twirled her around, Lauren laughed as she hugged Colby who held her tightly in his arms, Colby went and changed into His nicer outfit and then they all left heading to one of the expensive LA restaurants.

Once they had Arrived at the restaurant The server led them straight to their table, Sam had called ahead and reserved a table for the occasion, Not only was it Lauren's birthday but little did she know things were about to change, the surprise Colby had for her was about to be the best thing to ever happen to her.

They all ordered food and ate and then as it neared time for desert, The server brought another round of drinks, As Colby got up from his seat and walked to the other side of Lauren, He knelt down on one knee pulling out the ring box, Everyone in the restaurant turned and looked at them "Lauren Elena Fallon, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife? Will you marry me?" Colby asked, Lauren's eyes welled with tears as she smiled, "yes! YES A MILLION TIMES YES COLBY!" Lauren yelled as Colby slid the ring onto her finger.

They all left the Restaurant and Lauren kept looking at the ring, she couldn't believe Colby had proposed and that she'd soon be able to marry the love of her life, Lauren was so happy and Excited, today had turned into one of the biggest days of her life, this was definitely the best birthday she'd ever had.

They all arrived home and then there were more gifts to be given, Colby have her the second gift he had as Lauren opened it she smiled "Here's my first name until you take my last name." Colby said as he put the necklace around her neck, The necklace had Colby's name written out in cursive on the chain, Lauren loved it, Katrina then gave her the gift she brought, when Lauren opened it she smiled it was a photo of her and Kat In a glittery frame with the engraving "Kat + Lauren BFFs forever." Lauren smiled "I love it!" She said as she hugged Katrina.

The last gift for Lauren to get was from Sam, When Lauren opened sams gift her eyes welled with tears "to my sister by heart🤍" the photo book read, as Lauren flipped through the pages all the photos of her and Sam and then the photos of the three of them from freshman year to recently were all filling up the pages, Lauren couldn't help but cry as she hugged sam "I love it Sam!" Lauren said as Sam hugged her back.

"I love you guys so much!" Lauren said "thank you guys for making this birthday the best, After my mom and my dad divorced and my dad kicked me out I knew it was only a matter of time before my birthdays got harder but maybe they won't be so bad because I have my true family right here." Lauren said smiling, but the moment was soon to be ruined, her phone rang as she pulled it out of her pocket her expression quickly changed as her heart dropped to her stomach.

Lauren stared at the screen the name "dad." Staring right back at her, Lauren took a deep breathe as she answered the phone placing it to her ear "Hello?" Lauren asked "hey Sweetheart, I know we haven't been on the best terms since me and your mom divorced and that's my fault completely but I figured you needed to hear this from me first." Her dad said through the phone, Lauren looked up meeting Colby's eyes as him Sam and kat came closer to her "What is that dad?" Lauren asked, Katrina and sam stood sort of behind Colby As Lauren spoke.

"It's about your mom." Lauren's dad said "what about mom?" Lauren asked getting concerned "Lauren honey.. your mom passed away this morning." Lauren's father said, Lauren froze as she dropped her phone, the next thing she knew she was falling to her knees as tears streamed down her face, Colby quickly knelt down beside her as he held her in his arms "my moms dead." Lauren said as she cried in Colby's arms.

Colby tried to calm her he knew this was the worst thing to happen to her, Lauren was never close to her father she had always been closer to her mother and now she'd officially lost her mom, Lauren felt as if she couldn't breathe, her whole world was crashing down on her, she couldn't comprehend this.

Lauren got up "I need some time..." she said wiping her tears as she turned to head up the stairs "okay, I'll be up in a little while to check on you." Colby said as Lauren nodded heading up to Colby's room, Lauren Shut the door behind her as she laid onto the bed crying, she looked through all the photos of her and Her mom and sobbed more, Lauren decided she'd Try to Cope so she got up, showered and then changed into Colby's sweats and laid in the bed, Colby came up and joined her as he held her in his arms.

Lauren felt safe in his arms and she felt as if she could finally fall asleep, but she knew nothing would bring her mom back, but at least her mom wasn't hurting anymore, she wasn't sick anymore she was in a better place and Lauren knew that.
