Inside me.

The drive to the library was pleasant. It was nice seeing how we fixed up this abandoned part of town. With the combination of Seth and Ashs' pack, most of the once-vacant homes were filled. Most storefronts were occupied by wolves or humans who decided to open a business with us. However, the library we wanted was here from the original part of this area and it was across town. The rest of the place was similar to what we built on pack land. It was quaint and comforting. Many people seemed to choose walking among the various shops and homes rather than driving.

I longed to move on from all that was happening, to step away from this life, and to just be a kid again.

I mainly miss my mother. She would have loved to see this little town and I think she would really have enjoyed the area this pack home moved into.

Staring out the window more, I listened to the conversations between the other four in the car. They seemed to get along so well, and it made me feel like a complete stranger.

We brought this on ourselves, Dustin. But I truly hope this sudden change of attitude is a step in the right direction. My wolfs voice was somber. His energy was a bit conflicting between wanting to enjoy the presence of his mate and wanting to be away from everyone. I felt quite similar.

I hadn't realized how much that anger clouded my thoughts and took over. It was like I was acting completely on instinct and forgetting the human heart I had. All compassion and empathy was gone. I wonder if my wolf form has changed much more since I last was in it. The void-like black fur slowly climbed up my paws. Different from the patch I earned since mating with Jason.

I was quickly brought out of my thoughts by the sound of Ash calling for me.

"Hm?" I turned slightly to look back at the trio.

"Are you excited to find out what we are?" His eyes were sparkling with energy at the possible outcome of this outing.

"Truthfully, I find myself more afraid than anything. This may hold a lot of answers but what if we don't like what we find?"

"How could you not like it? This will explain everything. We will know what to work and train for. We will become better assets to both of our packs.

"It will also help us better understand how we can help and protect you." Seth chimed in, " Though I think Raven has a lot more responsibility to deal with than I.."

I scoffed and faced forward again, just barely catching Jason watching me warily from the corner of his eye before facing the road again.

I grit my teeth and willed the bubbling emotions to calm down and wither. Now was not the time to get frustrated.

"I think we both will have a lot of responsibility cause now we will have to adjust our styles to best suit our winter wolves." Raven piped up.

I relaxed a bit at his comment, feeling thankful to have him on my side even after all the shit I've done.

"Okay, we're just about there. What exactly do we need to look for..?" Jason asked.

"I guess any books regarding gods. We need to be checking multiple religions and cultures. Though I have to be looking toward Greek so maybe we start with that?"

The group responded with various confirmations as Jason parked. The library looked like an old church. It had stained glass windows and tall archways scattered about. The siding was weathered and the coloring showed its age. The interior matched. It smelled of aging leather and dust. The carpet had indents from the desired paths many people had chosen. Light showed through the windows and decorated the ground and shelves with an array of colors.
