Chapter 5 - Engaged

Cass' POV

I am getting married in 3 weeks.

What the hell, guys! I AM ABOUT TO TIE THE KNOT! I cannot believe this!

Oh, and did I mention that my soon-to-be-husband is my ex? My ex whom I caught doing 'it' with another woman. My ex who I just had a formal break up with 2 weeks ago. Yup, my life is absolutely chaos.

And do you know how my Mom told me everything the other day?

~FLASHBACK~

"She's getting married... To Vaughn." ANO DAAAW?! Nanlaki ang mata ko at napatingin ako kay El.

"Wait, so hindi mo alam na engaged ka kay Vaughn at magkakaroon ng engagement party 2 days from now? Ugh! I ditched Nathan for this!" Hinampas ko siya. Mas uunahin niya pa si Nathan whoever-that-guy-is?!

"You think I'd be this surprised if I knew everything? I thought my Mom was joking! Goddammit! Anong gagawin ko?" At sakto namang pumasok si Mom sa room ko. I gave her a death glare.

"Hey, Tita!" Bati ni El sa kanya at nakipag-beso.

"Ellie! You look so beautiful! Dalaga ka na talaga! I'm sure Edward looks very handsome as well. Did you guys receive the invitations?"

"Thanks, Tita! Yes, we did. Tito already hired a designer for our outfits at the engagement party! Napaka talaga nun ni Tito Gohann!" And they laughed. Ha-ha-ha. -___- "But wait lang po, why is Cass as shocked as I am?"

"She shouldn't be," napatingin ako kay Mom. "I warned you, didn't I?"

"I THOUGHT YOU WERE JOKING! Mom, this isn't just a simple thing... It-it's marriage! What the heck?"

"I guess I owe you an explanation?" I looked around and realized na lumabas na pala si El para makapag-usap kami ni Mom privately.

"You think?" Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay.

She sighed, then sat beside me. "May usapan kami dati nina Victoria at Marcus na if ever yung company nila, or yung company natin ay mabankrupt, we'll help each other. Last year, I received a very bad news, malapit na bumagsak ang company ng pamilya nina Vaughn. Of course, Victoria and Marcus reminded me and your dad. Kasama nadin si Gohann. We already planned everything, but I won't tell you about it since it's not important anymore..."

"So ano connect nun sa amin ni Vaughn?"

"We were about to continue the plan, but then naging kayo ni Vaughn. That gave us another idea, na kayo ang ipakasal sa isa't-isa. We already planned everything, the date, venue, guests... We totally thought na kayo ang magkakatuluyan. That explains my behavior nung sinabi mo sakin through the phone that you broke up with Vaughn."

"Can't you talk to Tita Victoria? I can't marry her son, Mom. I loved Vaughn, but that was before. Sige na..." Maiyak-iyak kong pagmamaka-awa kay Mommy.

"I can't. Everything has been set. At wala nang makakapagpabago sa napag-usapan namin nina Victoria. Their company is slowly going down as the days pass. Malapit na ang engagement party, we can't just go and tell them the wedding is cancelled. That would be really insensitive! At least do it for our family, Cass. Ours and theirs. Please..."

~END OF FLASHBACK~

And that is how I got engaged. Hindi na ako maka-tanggi, especially nung sinabi ni Mom na kailangan ko 'tong gawin para sa family namin... At future family ko. T.T

"Ma'am, kailangan niyo na daw po magbihis, padating na daw po yung guests..." Sabi ng maid sakin paglabas ko ng kwarto. Everything is ready, sobrang bongga ng engagement party... Kaso hindi ko din maeenjoy. I hate this. I so hate this.

Eleanor's POV

Well, well, well! Nagkaroon din ako ng POV! ^_^ Finally! Thank you, Author. Mwah mwah.

Anyhoo, I am on my way to Cass and Vaughn's engagement party. Nauna na ako kay Tito Gohann and Edward, I need to talk to Cass, though Tito Gohann explained everything already. Masyadong mabilis yung mga pangyayari, no? Kahit ako, sobrang naguguluhan eh...

"Hello po, Ma'am El." Bati sakin ng isa sa mga maids. I just nodded my head and smiled, tsaka umakyat sa kwarto ni Cass. Nang makarating ako, I stuck my right ear dun sa door, just to hear what's happening inside. Wala, trip ko lang.

And just like what I expected, I heard sobbing. Childish si Cass, at padalos-dalos sa mga desisyon niya, so what do you expect she'd be doing? Pumasok na ako sa loob and hugged her tightly. I know she needs it.

"E-El... I just cannot do this. Hindi pa ako handa..." Sobrang naaawa ako sa best friend ko, kaso wala din akong magawa. Alangan namang ako yung magpasakal-I mean magpakasal no! I enjoy my flings, they're... Amusing. ;) Pero I really wanna make things fine for Cass... She doesn't deserve any of these.

"Well, do you have a plan?" GEEZ! Magpapaka-BI pa ako, ano? XD

"I wanna run away. From Vaughn, from my family, from everyone. Kasi alam kong malaking kahihiyan lang ang ibibigay ko... Kasi hindi pa talaga ako handa... I wasn't warned! If I do escape, can you please not tell anyone? Please, Eleanor Margarette, please?"

I wanna help her. I want to lessen her sadness. So... Kahit ngayon lang siguro, I could disobey Tita Lisa, and my own Tito. Just this once...

"Fine. I know a place where you could stay. Here..." And we planned her escape. Sana naman hindi masyadong malaki ang epekto nito... Who am I kidding, lahat kami maaapektuhan nito. Tsk, bahala na.
