"it's so sweet, knowing that you love me." - sweet, cigarettes after sex
•
Liv didn't make a habit of lying to her sister. Trust was one of the main foundations of their relationship surviving everything that they'd been through together.
When Liv left Delilah after getting her medication from the pharmacy, she really was going to work. And she had been at work, for all of three hours, before Julien said that the other neurosurgeons had everything covered if she wanted to go home.
And she had been going back home, but she had gotten to the lobby and Steve told her that JJ was here, so, Liv turned her ass right back around to go and sit in her car because, yes, they were probably just sleeping, but Delilah had kissed JJ before and Liv didn't want to walk in on anything.
She loved them both, and JJ was basically her sister-in-law at this point, and Liv knew that JJ looked at Liv like a big sister after losing her own, but she could love them and not want to overhear the ins and outs of their dynamics.
So, Liv pulled her phone out and started a call to her not-girlfriend-girlfriend while she started driving away from her apartment. She didn't know if she was going to Emily's, yet, but she knew she was not going into her apartment.
"Hey, bambina," Emily's voice came over the bluetooth speaker. "How's work?"
"Dead," Liv said. "They sent me home."
"Someone died?" Emily asked.
"What? No. The hospital is dead, as in, no patients or anything. No activity going on," Liv laughed.
"Ohhhh," Emily said. "Are you heading home?"
"I was, but my sister's not-girlfriend-girlfriend is over and I don't particularly want to be in the middle of whatever is going on there," Liv said.
"Sex?" Emily asked.
"I don't know. I turned my ass right back around when the doorman told me. I mean, they've barely been speaking again since they kissed, and now she's over at the apartment after my sister starts taking her meds? It's probably an emotional mess up there," Liv said.
"You're coming over, right?" Emily laughed. "So you don't have to deal with emotions?"
"So I can see you," Liv laughed. "I've missed you."
"I've missed you, too," Emily said. "Are you hungry?"
"Not if you're cooking," Liv said.
"Ha ha," Emily snarked. "I have Lucky Charms, or we can order something. There's still a few places open."
"Ordering sounds good, or I can pick something up. I'm just passing the laser tag place," Liv said.
"Is the Chinese place open about two blocks down?" Emily asked.
Liv hummed as she drove, glancing out of the window and indicating to pull up in the parking lot out front.
"Yeah," Liv said. "Your usual?"
"Yes, please," Emily said. "Thank you, bambina."
"I'll be over soon," Liv said, pulling into a parking spot and turning the engine off.
"See you soon," Emily said.
