"are you falling in love?" - moment, vierre cloud

Liv sat behind the nurses desk on the pediatric floor, fiddling with her files while Mar and Jace talked over a patient they would be operating on in the morning. It was well into the evening in the end of June, the summer heat of Virginia having no effect on the doctors inside the AC cooled hospital.

"Do you think it's weird that hospitals have heard more sincere prayers than churches?" Liv said.

Jace stopped talking, turning his head to look at her.

"What?" he asked.

"It's like airports," Mar said. "They see more sincere kisses than wedding alters."

"Exactly," Liv pointed at her. "You get it."

"How did you figure that out?" Jace asked.

"I've prayed more genuinely in hospitals than I ever have in a church," Liv said. "I was just thinking."

"Maybe you need to be having more sex with Emily," Jace said. "Because you shouldn't be depressed when you've got a situationship half-girlfriend thing going on."

"Nobody said I was depressed," Liv laughed. "It was just an observation."

"Where is Emily, anyway?" Mar asked. "Working?"

"No, she's leaving her job," Liv sighed. "She's handed her resignation in. She's probably going to move out of Virginia. We're not talking about it," Liv said.

"That's not healthy," Mar said.

"We're also not talking about Ziggy, so, it's fine," Liv said. "I think we might've jumped the gun on this."

"How so?" Jace asked.

"We... We agreed to give it a real go without talking through everything going on. I'm gonna be a foster parent and have a kid to raise. A traumatised kid. She might be moving for a new job. They're very big things that could make or break a long-term relationship, never mind a situationship relationship that's, like, a few months old," Liv said.

"That is messy," Mar sighed. "What are you gonna do about it?" Mar asked.

"Avoid it," Liv said. "At least tonight, I am. We'll have to talk, eventually. But I'm going to Vegas to meet Ziggy in a few days and I need to get that over with before I make any decisions about anything."

Liv's phone beeped and she pulled it out, looking at the text from Emily.

Emily:

Going to have to reschedule tomorrow's breakfast date at Patty's.

Been called into a case with my boss and have to travel x

Liv had so many questions, but she figured they could talk about it when Emily got back, or when Liv got back from Vegas.

Liv:

I might be in Vegas by the time you get back
