"GOOD afternoon, ma'am," I smiled and greeted her politely as JJ and I approached the front desk while the others' scattered around in the shop. I could see the woman wasn't too happy to have these many teenagers lurking in her shop.

"Good afternoon," The lady behind the counter replied with a boring look on her face.

"I see you buy gold," JJ gets straight to the point with a small smirk as he comes to stand beside me, his backpack on his shoulder.

"That's what the sign say, don't it?" The lady rolled her eyes, being slightly blunt and rude.

"Oh, that's great!" I chimed in, smiling widely like a happy puppy.

"Yeah, well, I sure hope you buy a lot of it," JJ agreed. "Because we are about to blow your mind," he added.

"I ain't got much mind left to blow," She replied, sounding unimpressed and bored still. "So, have at it," She said.

"How about them gold apples?" JJ says, as he fishes out the melted gold from his bag and places it on the desk.

"That ain't real." The woman laughed.

"That ain't real?"I repeated her words, acting in disbelief.

"It can't be, sweetie," The woman replied.

"Yeah? Here, feel how heavy it is?" JJ counters. "Mhm...let's get some light on that, yeah," JJ smirked along.

The woman picks up the gold nugget, struggling to do so easily because of the weight as she reaches for a magnifying glass and a flashlight as she examines it. "Spray painted tungsten," She replied.

"Spray painted tungsten? Really?" JJ scoffs subtly, repeating the words.

"How about...you uh, see how--how soft it is?" I suggested.

"You mind?" She replied, picking up a small hammer.

"No, no, go for it," JJ said as we both watched the lady hammer a nail into the gold nugget, instantly leaving behind a dent in the soft metal. "Wow. Would you look at that?" JJ smiled, excited. A soft smile crept up my lips at his as he pulls me closer to his side.

"Hold your horses," the lady warns as we both were smiling wide. "We ain't got to the acid test, yet," She adds.

"Ooh! The acid test!" I raised my eyebrows and clapped once in excitement.

"My favourite, guys!" JJ added as he looked over my shoulder to our friends.

The woman grabs a bottle of acid from nearby. She lets a few drops fall on the gold. "Well, it ain't plated and it ain't painted," the woman came to the damned conclusion.
