Maps were spread across my bedroom floor, the human pacing in front of me.

"We've got to find her," He continued to mumble. I had heard once that for a human, the mating process was much stronger for them. Seth looked like death had licked him head to toe, chewed him up and spit him out. His hair was tossed to one side from his sleep and it hasn't changed since. His eyes were dull, round orbs rolling around in his head. He hadn't changed his clothes since the night I had found him; the same blood stained torn clothes that still smelled like burning metal. He kept looking around nervously, biting his nails and mumbling about her.

"We've- we've-we've got to find her Gabby... She-she-she's all alone." He mumbled and began to pace. I shuffled through the papers again and concentrated hard, my hands warming as they found the right paper. It was the flyer of a man missing in Oakwood, the next town over. His name was Christian Hansen and he'd been missing for over three years. My hand flew over to a paper of another missing man around the same age as Mr. Hansen. His name was Donald Gregorio and he'd been missing from Vanderbilt for just under a year. Vanderbilt was a city that was only a few miles from here.

I compared the pictures of the men. Both were around the same age, around the same height and weight, they even looked similar. I opened my laptop and searched both the men. Both men were werewolves of the same pack and both were upstanding members of it. Christian Hansen was a lawyer at a firm and had traveled around the world. Donald Gregorio was a pack doctor that would travel to other packs and help heal them.

"What do you know about these two men?" I asked Seth, holding up the two flyers. He shook his head and went back to pacing. I frowned and picked up my phone to call Emery. I heard a few rings and was put on voicemail.

"Hey it's me, I was wondering if you could find me some information on Christian Hansen and Donald Gregorio. It's really important. Thanks." I said and hung up the phone. I looked down at my phone and waited for him to call me back, but I knew it wasn't likely.

"Seth, I think these guys are linked to Mel. I don't know how or why, it's just a feeling, you know?" He nodded at me and kept pacing, biting his nails that were already bleeding. "Come on, let's go get some coffee." I told him as I stood up from the floor. A strong gust of wind came through the window and blew the papers around the room. I ran to close the window as Seth rushed around to save the papers. I closed the window and turned around to see the only paper laying on the red rug, like a patch of snow on a brick road. I slowly walked over to it and saw that it was the article written by the local newspaper about my father when he had returned.

I picked it up and looked at the picture of the man that posed as my father. He didn't look right, something was definitely off about him. I crumpled the picture and threw it on the ground.

"Let's go," I told Seth as I grabbed my black leather jacket off of the edge of the couch along with my wallet and keys to Seth's car. I walked out my door with Seth and locked the door behind me.

Just as we were about to reach the car, I could hear Camilla's footsteps behind me.

"Slut," she coughed as she pushed me. I fell to the ground and scraped my knee. I hissed as the blood surfaced to the top.

"At least I'm not a coward," I say as i brush the dirt off of me and stand up.

"Yes you are, anyone who tries to kill themselves is a coward," I flinched at her words. Camilla stood up proudly.

"I may be a coward, but Emery will still love me more than he will ever love you." I spat, a venomous smile working its way onto my lips. "I'm not a mate stealer," I said, standing up fully and confidently against my step sister.
