Emery Tanner stood in the door way and we were both in shock. His dirty blonde hair was messy in a cute way, sticking up in odd places. His hazel eyes searched me over. He was wearing a tight black t shirt, ripped blue jeans and black converse sneakers. He tapped the toes of the shoes together, looking a little embarrassed. I stood there with my mouth wide open. I felt like a fish out of water, struggling to breathe with my mouth doing nothing to help me. The look on his face was priceless, his eyes got wide and his lips parted slightly like he was going to say something. His lips though, EW since when did I become such a pervert? He tightened his lips into a tight line and grabbed my wrist, pulling me into the hall closet beneath the stairs. I suddenly felt like Harry Potter, being shoved beneath the stairs. I was still in shock. He closed the door as quietly as he could, grabbing my waist and sending shivers down my spine.
“Alright if you’re going to reject me then just get it over with-“I tried to talk but he crashed his lips on mine. His lips were soft and moved perfectly in sync with mine. It felt like little fireworks were exploding in my head. It’s like the entire world faded away, nothing else mattered except him and me in that moment. We broke away, breathing heavily.
“I knew we were mates, I knew it, I knew it, I knew it!” He whisper screamed. I wanted to laugh at his childishness.
“So you don’t reject me?” I asked, praying that he wouldn’t.
“Why would I ever reject someone as beautiful as you? You’re Captain of the Cheerleading team and super smart, I don’t care if you’re an Omega, and you’re going to make a wonderful Luna.” He kissed my cheek. I completely forgot if I was going to be Emery’s mate then one day I’d have to be Luna of the pack. How would they react to that? Would the pack be as accepting as Emery? I just nodded my head, making sure not to hit it on the coat rack.
“We have to keep this a secret.” I said, suddenly thinking what Vivian might do if she found out.
“What? Why? I don’t want to.” He pouted, hugging my waist tighter, burying his face into my neck.
“Please, I- I can’t tell you why now but I promise I will when the time is right.” I half lied, I wasn’t sure if the time would ever be right. He sighed heavily and kissed my neck, trailing up to my lips.
“I was so nervous coming here, last time I saw you I hit you with my truck.” He confessed.
“Wait, you did this?” I asked, shaking my arm and my leg.
“I’m so sorry Gabriella-“
“Gabby,” I interrupted.
“What?”
“We are mates aren’t we?” I smiled with pride as I said the word mates. “You don’t need to call me Gabriella.”
“But it’s such a lovely name.” Emery smiled at me, my heart could have melted into a puddle onto the floor. He kissed me again, leaving me in awe at the way my body molded to his, warmth flowing throughout my body. He put a finger to my lips, motioning for me to be quiet. He opened the closet door to find Karma standing with her arms crossed in front of her chest, a skeptical look written all over her face. I quickly came up with an excuse.
