As Hermione settled into her seat at the Gryffindor table, she couldn't help but feel a surge of anticipation as the Sorting Hat prepared to sort the first-year students. Her eyes scanned the room, searching for Harry among the eager faces.
Just as she spotted him, the Sorting Hat was placed upon Draco's head. Hermione watched as the Hat deliberated, its brim shifting and wriggling. Finally, the Hat announced, "Slytherin!"
Hermione couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment. She had hoped that Draco might end up in a different house, away from his usual haunts. But she knew that everyone deserved a chance to grow and change.
