As Jayce and I made our grand entrance into the dazzling auction gala, the flash of paparazzi cameras ignited the night. We were the last ones there of course, being fashionably late so that we could be the most talked about ones of the night.

I tried my best to exude confidence in my stunning crimson spaghetti strap dress, its lustrous fabric accentuating my every curve. The dress dipped sensually at the top, revealing a hint of cleavage, while cascading waves of my blonde curled hair framed my face like a halo. A red flower rested at the side of my head, and I wore a deep red lipstick, topped with a gloss to make my lips look more shiny.

Beside me, Jayce radiated elegance in his tailored tuxedo, a symbol of his opulent stature. The deep black fabric clung to his broad shoulders, contrasting sharply with his crisp white shirt and a perfectly tied bowtie. His chiseled jawline and piercing blue eyes only added to the allure. He looked so good. I couldn't help but to smile a little knowing this man was mine.

And we were currently doing well with trying to work out our problems, we got along better these days, I was doing better at listening to him trying not to make anymore mistakes and he was trying too. He apologized over and over for what he did, telling me he wasn't in his right mind and I believed him. We were never a toxic couple regardless of what it looked like, and every relationship had its ups and down. It was up to us to move forward and make it work for the sake of our marriage, which we were doing.

Walking hand in hand still, we moved gracefully through the spotlight, our intertwined fingers conveying a unity that belied our tumultuous past. Each camera flash captured the contrasting worlds colliding, a vivid tableau of wealth, power, and undeniable attraction.

"Ivy you look stunning!" I heard from nearby and smiled even bigger as we finally made it to the doors where the gala auction was being held.

It was set within the opulent confines of a historic New York City ballroom, as the double doors opened, crystal chandeliers suspended from high ceilings cast a warm, golden glow over the room, illuminating rich mahogany paneling and intricate, gilded moldings. Tables adorned with exquisite floral arrangements that punctuated the expansive space, offering guests a taste of luxury.

The walls were adorned with priceless works of art, and a grand stage at one end of the room awaited auctioned treasures. A symphony of clinking glasses and hushed conversations filled the air as fellow elegantly dressed attendees mingled beneath the watchful gaze of towering marble statues. The atmosphere was one of sophistication and prestige, a backdrop befitting the elite gathering gathered to bid on treasures and revel in the evening's festivities.
