Chapter 05

"I—I told you that none of this is your fault."

Andini cleared her throat and looked away. She tried to back away but her waist hit the table behind her. The girl glanced at Masaki, who had distanced himself from her and seemed to be busy arranging glasses filled with tea on a tray. Then, the man lifted the tray containing eleven teas and smiled at Andini.

"Let me bring all this to the living room," said Masaki. "With your condition like that, I'm afraid you will fall again. You don't mind, do you?"

Andini shook her head. "I..." The girl took a deep breath and lowered her head. "Thank you."

"Come on. Your friends must be waiting for you."

Andini walked behind Masaki using her crutches. The girl stared at Masaki's back which looked wide and warm. A back that is sure to make any girl feel comfortable and protected. Andini smiled faintly. A smile that depicts sadness and pain. Takigawa Masaki definitely already has a lover and for some reason this makes Andini feel unhappy and jealous of whoever becomes his lover. The girl who becomes his lover is a very lucky girl.

When they reached the living room, Inga and Shu smiled kindly at Andini. Andini's two childhood friends immediately stood up from the sofa and helped Andini to sit on the sofa with them. Andini also introduced herself once again to Narumiya Minato and the others. Masaki preferred to sit on the sofa opposite Andini, next to Minato. The 23-year-old guy is aware that Andini still feels uncomfortable around him. Their conversation stopped when Shu suddenly asked something that could make the atmosphere awkward and Andini paled in her place.

"Andini, where does Akira go to school? Did he go to the same school as you at Kazemai High School?"

Everyone looked at each other, confused by Shu's question. Only Inga looked curious and looked at Andini with sparkling eyes—because she knew Akira was not at Kazemai High School. Or, at least she hadn't seen the guy at their school—and Masaki was drinking his tea calmly while glancing at Andini with curious glances.

"Who is Akira?" Nanao asked curiously. The man smiled broadly. "Is he a kyudoka like us? Is his ability very good?"

Shu smiled and nodded. "He's a very talented kyudoka. His abilities are recognized internationally. He has won various tournaments since childhood and he is Andini's twin brother. If I remember correctly, Akira was born five minutes before Andini." Shu looked at Andini. "I'm right, aren't I?"

Andini swallowed hard and nodded. She started to panic and started hearing screams in her head. Images that she no longer wanted to remember appeared in her head.

"Ah! No wonder I've heard the name Ishida before! That name seems familiar to me," Minato said while snapping his fingers. "Ishida Akira, right? He was very famous when he was a child in Japan. However, I don't know any information or news about him anymore because I'm busy honing my kyudo skills."

Andini couldn't hear the conversations going on around her. She could see the people opening their mouths but had no idea what they were talking about. The girl started having trouble breathing and sweating. Her body trembled. Her hands clenched tightly onto her thighs. Then, just as her vision started to blur, a person appeared in front of her. A handsome face with blue eyes like the sea gave her a calm gaze. The guy's smile made Andini calm again and forget all her fears.

Takigawa Masaki.

"Andini, can you take me to the bathroom?" Masaki asked in a gentle tone. He stretched out his hand toward Andini and without waiting for a long time, the girl held Masaki's hand. The guy helped Andini to stand up and gave the crutches to the girl. "Sorry if I disturbed your chat with your friends."

"It's okay," Andini said, wetting her lips. The girl forced a smile. "Come on, I'll take you, Masaki-san."

Andini walked first. She bit her lip to hold back the tears that were ready to fall down her cheeks. When they reached the bathroom door, Andini shifted her body and looked down.

"I'll be waiting here," said the girl in a trembling voice.

Masaki was silent. He stood in front of Andini and looked down so he could see the girl's entire physique. Her tiny body trembled. Ever since he accidentally mentioned Ishida Akira's name, Masaki knew something was wrong with Ishida Andini. Today, he knew that Ishida Akira was the twin brother of the girl in front of him. But, why does Andini always react like this when they mention her twin's name?

"If you want to cry, just cry," Masaki said in a gentle tone. The man smiled even though Andini couldn't see him. "I will be here to accompany you and wait for you until you calm down. We can tell the others that I spend a lot of time in the bathroom."

"I..." Andini couldn't continue her words any longer. It felt like there were thousands of knives piercing her throat. The tears had already dripped and fell to the floor. Of course, Masaki could see it. He could also hear Andini's sobs. "I... Kyudo has destroyed us. It separated me from Akira Oniichan." Andini looked up and Masaki froze when he saw Andini's eyes shining with sadness and despair. The girl felt devastated and Masaki for some reason didn't like seeing her like this. "Kyudo and I have killed Akira Oniichan."

"Hey, what are you talking about?" Masaki asked in a surprised tone. He held Andini's shoulders and bent slightly so that his face was level with Andini's. "You didn't kill anyone. Whatever happened to Akira, I'm sure it wasn't your fault."

"You don't know anything!" Andini exclaimed. She shook her head firmly and jerked Masaki's hands off her shoulders. "Did you know that my own parents said that? Even before Akira Oniichan left this world, he said that he hated me so much that he cursed me! He hopes I will never be happy and never be able to play Kyudo again!"

Masaki froze in his place. His blue eyes widened. How could an older brother say that to his little sister?

"I'm a killer," muttered Andini in a tired tone. The girl laughed and took a deep breath. "So, stay away from me or I will also put you in danger, Takigawa Masaki-san. I can make you hurt and lose the Kyudo that you love so much."
