Chapter 16

Takigawa Masaki clenched his fists at his sides.

He didn't like the sentence said by Nikaido Eisuke a moment ago. Masaki admitted that he was careless and caused Ishida Andini to be in this worrying condition. But, he didn't do it on purpose. He was just as worried as Eisuke. After all, Eisuke is only Andini's cousin. The man has no right to forbid him from approaching Andini because he is not the girl's parent!

"Watch your mouth, Nikaido Eisuke-san. I'm older than you," Masaki said in a firm tone. As firm as his blue eyes when looking at Eisuke right now. Eisuke froze but he quickly regained his normal posture.

"So what if you are older than me?" Eisuke challenged. "She's my cousin, my little sister, so it goes without saying that I have to protect her!"

"You—"

"Can you two stop fighting?!" Kurosaki Inga exclaimed. The girl stood between Masaki and Eisuke, then looked at them alternately with sharp gazes. Her other friends, who also had an accident with her and Masaki, still had to receive treatment from nurses in a different room. "Right now, what Andini-chan needs is some peace. She needs us! If you guys just want to fight here, you better leave right now!" Inga wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes. "I've told Andini's Mother about this accident and she's on her way here."

Masaki and Eisuki gave each other sharp glances and immediately looked away. The atmosphere became even more tense when Fujiwara Shu and the others had finished their treatment and entered Andini's room. Shu, who noticed the tension between Masaki and Eisuke, also saw Inga crying, frowning.

"What happened?" Shu asked Inga. He approached the girl and knelt before her. Shu was very upset because he saw his best friend crying, which was most likely because of Masaki and Eisuke's actions. He wiped the tears from Inga's face and smiled. He held one of Inga's hands which felt cold. "Why are you crying?"

Inga shook her head. She looked down and gritted her teeth.

"Did something happen to Andini-chan?" Shu asked again. This time in a worried tone.

Inga shook her head again. "Andini-chan is fine." She raised her head so she could look at Shu. "But, I'm annoyed because Masaki-san and Eisuke-kun are fighting."

Shu nodded and ruffled Inga's hair. Then, he stood up and glared at Masaki and Eisuke.

"Do you guys have no brains? You guys can't think straight, huh?" Shu approached the two men and pointed at them in turn. "This is the hospital and Andini-chan is still lying there unconscious," he pointed at Andini. "And you two are fighting here?"

"Shu, calm down," Minato said. He approached his friend and grabbed his shoulder. Likewise with Seiya who was standing on Shu's left side. He wasn't as close to Shu as Minato even though the three of them were from the same middle school. But, Seiya also couldn't let his friend join in making a fuss along with Masaki and Eisuke. The hospital would definitely kick them out if they made a fuss here.

"Listen, I don't care if you are," Shu pointed at Eisuke. "Andini-chan's cousin. I also don't care if you," this time Shu pointed at Masaki, "are interested in Andini-chan. But, I won't just stay silent if you two make a fuss near Andini-chan who is resting!"

After Shu said that, Ishida Rena, Andini's Mother, came. The woman looked very panicked and anxious. She also looked pale and was crying. Inga immediately approached the woman and tried to calm her down. She explained to Rena what happened to all of them and said that Andini was fine. Then, Masaki approached the woman and apologized repeatedly for the carelessness he had committed.

Ishida Andini opened her eyes slowly.

The girl groaned softly and held her head which was in pain. Then, her bright brown eyes looked around her. After that, Andini looked out the window. It's night out there. And then, Andini looked at her body and focused on the IV drip on her wrist. She frowned.

"I'm at the hospital," she muttered. The girl tried to remember what happened and it made her head hurt. She hissed and closed her eyes. Then, the girl took a deep breath.

Andini tried to remember again. She was on her way to Eisuke's High School. Then, she talked to Masaki. Inga screamed and their car almost collided with another car. She got out of the car and ran. But, she had a panic attack. She fell to the ground and was having difficulty breathing. Takigawa Masaki caught up with her and knelt in front of her. The man tried to make her focus on him but she couldn't do it. Her mind suddenly went blank and she saw Ishida Akira standing behind Masaki. Ishida Akira looked very angry and hated her. Ishida Akira looked at her with a sharp and cold gaze. After that...

Andini opened her eyes and gasped. Her light brown eyes widened. She covered her mouth with one hand, then caressed her lips with her fingers.

Takigawa Masaki kissed her lips!

Dammit! What has that man done?!

The annoyance that suddenly emerged within her because she felt sexually harassed made Andini cry. The girl removed the IV from her wrist and got out of bed. She left the room and ignored the nurses' screams telling her to go back to the room and rest. She had to look for Takigawa Masaki. Knowing the man's stubborn nature, Masaki most likely wouldn't leave this hospital until he knew she was awake.

Andini's guess proved correct because the girl found Masaki in the cafeteria. He sat with her Mother as well as Shu, Eisuke, and Inga. Minato and the others were nowhere to be seen, most likely having returned to their respective homes. Andini clenched her fists at her sides and walked quickly towards Masaki.

"Andini-chan?!"

Andini ignored Inga's call. When everyone stood up, Andini stood in front of Masaki and looked up to give him a cold look.

"Andini—"

Before Masaki could finish whatever the man wanted to say to her, Andini immediately raised her right hand in the air. The girl slapped Masaki so hard that the handsome man's head turned to the side. The sound of her loud slap echoed in the cafeteria, making everyone stop talking and look at her. Her mother, Eisuke, Shu, and Inga froze. Masaki held his cheek which felt hurt and looked at Andini.

Then, the man froze when he saw Andini crying while pointing at his face.

"You jerk!" Andini cursed. "Why did you kiss my lips, Takigawa Masaki?!"
