Delusion

Gary was on anti depressants and had been drinking a lot. He had been going through a bad time and you had spoken to the doctors to help take some of the pain away. The mix of pills and drink had been messing with his head a lot and driving him crazy.
You came back from shopping and found him in the living room.
"Hey darling, you okay"
"Get out"
"What"
He stood up and threw the front door open.
"I don't want you anywhere near me after what you did"
"Gary what are you talking about"
"I know you cheated, don't lie to me y/n"
"Gary.. I have never cheated on you"
"Then why do i remember walking in on you and.. him"
You sighed and rubbed his back.
"Who's him Gary"
"ROBBIE.. god after everything I.. how could you do this to me.. how could you let me walk in on that"
"And when did you walk in on us"
"About an hour ago.. and then you walked outside and kissed him goodbye right in front of Me"
"Gary an hour ago, I was out food shopping.. I didn't cheat on you"
"No but.. I saw it I.. oh my god"
He started to cry and hit his head.
"Hey.. enough okay, please don't do that"
"I can't believed I blamed you"
"Gary it's the drink and the pills.. you need to cut one of them out.. we both know which one"
"It's a reliant y/n, it's not as easy as that"
"I know.. but you can't keep going on like this"

You nodded and kissed his cheek.
"Tell me about it.. talk to me"
"Y/n.. don't make me do this"
"You know you won't let it go otherwise"
He let a tear fall from his face and wiped his hand across his face.
"I was sitting down here.. I heard you call my name, as I walked up the stairs the moans got louder.. you weren't calling my name, you were.. comparing us.. Robbie you're so much faster, better, hotter than Gary... I stood there and I listened.. I couldn't pull myself away.. when yous had finished.. you took him downstairs and led him out the house, the two of you walked right past me, like I was nothing.. you had him, why would you want me"
You pulled him next to you and kissed his head.
"Gary I would never cheat on you.. I would never cheat on you with him.. with that monster, being with you is like a new lease of life Gary.. please baby look at me"
He turned his face towards you and shook his head.
"Gary, it didn't happen.. it will never happen"
"You promise"
"I swear on your life.. please come back to me Gaz, the real Gary"
"I don't know where he is"
"He's in there.. you've just got to find him and if you need help you just ask okay"
"You shouldn't have to see me like this, it's pathetic.. it's weak"
"No Gary it's not.. wearing your heart on your sleeve like this.. admitting that you're not happy, that takes real courage Gaz.. you're so brave"
"I don't feel it"
"You will Gary.. you will I promise"
He lay down on your lap and fell asleep within minutes. You carefully got up and phoned Derek.
"Hi y/n, everything okay"
"Yeah i erm.. I just need some advice, I know it's not really your field but your the only person I could think of that wouldn't laugh in my face"
"That's what I'm here for"
"Gary he erm.. he's been put on these anti depressants.. he's been drinking with them, I know it's bad Derek.. what I need to know is how long before it gets really bad"
"How long ago was he put on the pills"
"A little over a week ago I think"
"Right well.. right now he's going to be tired.. maybe a bit delusional would that seem right"
"Yeah.. that sounds exactly right"
"Look y/n if he keep drinking with them.. he's going to lose coordination, he could fall, seriously injure himself.. if he keeps going.. he'll start feeling extremely sick, it won't he safe for him y/n.. you need to get I'm off the drink"
"I will.. thank you Derek"
"No problem.. let me know if you need anything else"
"Thanks Derek, bye"
You hung up the phone and knelt down In front of Gary. Running your fingers through the fluffy golden hair.
"Mhm, why did you get up"
"Just phoned Derek, we need to get you off that drink"
"You'll help me won't you"
"Hey of course I will.. I'm your wife that's what I'm here for"
"I don't deserve you"
"Gary stop it.. you are one in a million, I love you"
You kissed his forehead. He looked towards the piano and sighed.
"What happened to me"
"It's okay.. you're still the love of my life, you're still my Gary"
"You know why I imagined you and him.. it's not just about losing you.. I can't tell you how many nights I have lay awake wishing for his career"
You wiped his eyes and lay beside him.
"Life's not been kind to you, you can come back from this Gary.. I believe in you"
"I just want to be me again, I want to be able to sing"
"You can sing.. nothings stopped you"
"They have.. all their words they've silenced me.. the criticise me without me even saying a word.. what do you think it'll be like when I sing"
"You shouldn't be made to feel scared to sing, you love singing"
"Yeah well the comments hurt.. their too cruel to push out"

Gary flicked his phone on and scrolled through endless news articles.
"Back for Puds.. relight my fryer.. i don't know what I did to these people"
"Nothing.. Gary these people have no life, they are cruel spiteful people with no respect and understanding for peoples feelings. You have done nothing wrong"
"I just wish it would end"
"Come here my angel.. you're the kindest man this world will ever know"
"I love you y/n, I'm sorry for putting you through this"

"Then I'm sorry they've hurt you"
"You don't have to apologise.. I won't let you dignify their actions with that response"
You ruffled his hair and smiled lightly.

"I know.. I just wish I could give you the love you deserve"
