Gary had just gotten home from a tour four days ago and was called away for big staff conference in London for the weekend. He came downstairs with his bag and sat next to you on the sofa.
"That's me all packed"
"Right.."
"Come on Darling.. say something"
"What do you want me to say Gary.. you're just back.. do you know how hard it is to watch you leaving so soon"
You turned up the TV and tried to avoid the conversation. He took a hold of your hand.
"What you watching"
"A Romcom.. this couple find each other in Italy"
He watched as the couple laughed on a motorbike.
"Why can't we have that Gary.. just a bit of spontaneity"
"I try my best y/n"
"I just wish we had more time"
"I try.. it's not my fault y/n I have to follow the schedule"
"Look there's no need to get snarky"
"Me get snarky you're the one giving me the silent treatment.. I don't even know what I'm meant to have done"
"Nothing Gary.. you haven't done anything, that's our problem"
He shook his head and picked up his bag. He stopped in the doorway and turned to look at you.
"I do love you y/n.. I'll call you when I get there"
"Yeah whatever"
He hung his head low and walked out the house. You sat crying on the sofa as you watched the car drive away.

Gary's POV:
I drove to the conference with tears in my eyes. I hate leaving her alone, especially after a fight. I got out the car and composed myself before walking into the hotel.
"Hi there, a reservation under Barlow"
"That's for three nights sir yes"
I looked at the receptionist and back at the car.
"Actually.. no sorry, I have to go.. sorry about that, no need for a refund"
I got in the car and drove to the rental company.
"Hi.. you wouldn't have any motorbikes for rent"
"Yes for how long"
"A day maybe two"
"Perfect.. would you like to pay now or when you come back"
"Here just pay it now"
I handed them my credit car and sped home on the motorbike. When I got here the lights were off. I took a small stone and gently threw it at the bedroom window.

Your POV:
You woke up to a quick tap on the bedroom window. You got out of bed and opened the window to see Gary standing below.
"What the hell are you doing home"
"I should never have left.. I haven't been spending enough time with you lately, you were right I should be more spontaneous"
"I hope to god you haven't driven home on that thing drunk"
"Only drunk on love Darling"
"Oh for fuck sake"
"You wanted spontaneity.. get changed I'm taking you out for dinner and for a ride"
You started to laugh.
"Do you realise how dirty that sounded"
"Maybe.. now are you going to come out with me or just stand up there like Rapunzel all night"
You quickly got changed and put on a little bit of makeup before walking downstairs.
"Are you insured to drive this thing"
"Is being insured being spontaneous"
"Well.. I'd rather not break my neck"
"Darling it's me.. you know you're safe with me"
You got on the motorbike with him and held on tightly. He started to speed up and laughed as you screamed.
"Oh my god Gary slow down"
"You only live once y/n"
"Yeah I don't want to die young"
He laughed and kissed your hand.

As you reached the restaurant he helped you off the bike and led you onto a boat

As you reached the restaurant he helped you off the bike and led you onto a boat.
"I thought you said we were going to a restaurant"
"Yep.. on a boat, come on"
You ran on with him and ordered food at the table.
"Gary.. thank you"
"You don't need to thank me.. I should have tried harder to have more time with you"
"No.. look I'm sorry, I shouldn't have snapped at you like that, I was just bitter about you going away"
"Y/n babe.. we don't need to talk this through, i know"
You got your meal and looked once again at Gary.
"What"
"Nothing.. I'm just thankful I'm getting more time with you"
"I'm sorry.. it's because of me and my job"
"No no.. Gary don't apologise, if it weren't for that job me and you may never have met"
"Yeah I suppose"
"Gary.. do you ever think about us.. like what if we had met earlier"
"All the time, but what I keep coming back to is you.. now I've got you y/n.. and I'm grateful for you and our son"
"I guess we're just two people that fell in love in 93'"
He nodded and muttered under his breath
"Falling in love in 93"
"Go on.. take that for a song title"
"You know you're my inspiration baby.. everything I've done you can take credit for"
As you eat your meal yous looked out over the city's skyline.
"Beautiful isn't it"
"Not as beautiful as you"
"You're an old flirt"
"Oi less of the old.. I'm still in my prime of life"
"I don't want to grow old Gary"
"Because you're scared of losing me.. believe me I've thought the same"
You looked down at your hands and sighed.
"I just feel like it's all slipping away some times.. olly's growing up so fast I.. I don't want to see you die Gary"
You started to cry. He pulled his chair next to yours and hugged you.
"Darling come on.. hey look at me"
You faced him and let him wipe the tears from your cheeks.
"I'm not going anywhere okay.. I'm going to call management tomorrow ask for a stint off"
"No Gary you can't do that"
"I can and I will.. it's not like the nineties anymore y/n.. I'm not going to get given the sack at the drop of a hat, I need to spend time with you and Olly.. we need that"
"You won't resent me for it"
"Don't be daft babe.. I love you"
Yous finished your meal and hopped back on the motorbike driving home. Gary opened the door for you and held his arms out. You hugged him and gave a quick peck on the cheek.
"Eh.. more please"
"Who are you Oliver Twist"
He smirked and kissed you. He stumbled and laughed as you both fell onto the bed.
"You sure you haven't been drinking tonight"
"Scouts honour"
"I love you Gaz"
"I know babe.. I love you too, we should do something with Olly tomorrow once we pick him up from my mothers"
"Like what"
"I don't know.. carnival maybe"
"He'll love that.. some quality time with his dad"
"I meant what I said y/n.. I'm not going anywhere"
"Good.. because the thought of watching you leave for good.. it's too much to bear Gary"
"You don't ever have to worry about that okay.. I promise"
