Addie watched Peter and Happy leave, slightly deflating at the younger of the pair's absence. She turned to face the man that was holding her, reaching up to touch on his cheek.
"Tam?" she called.
The man grinned at her baby voice, "What do you need Little Mama?" he asked as he adjusted her on his hip; he could feel her slightly slipping.
She blinked at him, "Where Petur?" she asked.
He laughed and patted her back, "He went to go get things."
She frowned, "What he get?" she asked, curious about where he went; she hadn't seen him actually leave her the entire time she'd been at the compound.
He laughed, "Well, he went to go get you some clothes and a bed and some toys and just about everything else." he announced.
She continued to stare at him, her bright green orbs boring into him, "Why?"
"Because you need them." he told her, he forgot how many questions little kids asked.
He grabbed his bottle of water and tucked it into his pocket before walking to the living room. He sat down on the couch and grabbed the remote, sitting the toddler down next to him.
"Why don't we watch a little T.V?" he asked.
She nodded, "Otay."
He turned the T.V., wanting to watch the show that was on; but quickly changed his mind when he saw the main character shoot someone. Maybe this wasn't such a good show for a five year old...He reached over and covered her eyes at the next scene, quickly changing the channel before she pushed his hand away, slightly huffing at him. He settled onto Nick Jr, something that he definitely wasn't interested in, but when a pair of white rabbits appeared on the t.v., Addie's attention was fully grasped. She went to stand up, excitedly pointing at the smaller creature that he learned was named Max; he picked her up and sat her back down.
"Not so fast," he announced.
She shrugged off his warning, pointing and waving her finger at the show, "Bunny!" she announced loudly, her green eyes twinkling excitedly.
He laughed at her excitement, "You like this show Little Mama?" he asked.
She quickly nodded her head, "Uh huh...I wike bunny." she replied.
He nodded and set the remote down beside him, deciding on letting the girl watch the show instead of what he was originally watching, "Well okay then." he replied.
He leaned into the couch, half watching the show and half watching the toddler; he'd decided that the show wasn't half bad, not that he'd ever tell anyone that. The episodes continued and after about an hour, Addie pointed at the T.V when she saw the character named Max's teddy bear. She turned to look at him, patting his arm expectantly.
"Tam?" she called.
He looked down at her, gently holding onto her hand that was rapidly touching his arm, "What do you need little mama?" he asked, holding back a small laugh.
"You have Bear?" she asked.
His brow immediately furrowed What?, "What bear?" he asked, wondering what she was talking about.
She sighed softly and pointed at the t.v. when the toy appeared again, "Bear." she repeated.
He sighed, "You don't have a bear little mama." he replied.
