Darkness Within

The Meeting

I anxiously wait in my assigned seat, where Tom makes the Top of the table. With myself and Adraxas at his Flank as Lestrange, Avery and Nott take their seats, around the table.

"Right, shall we begin?." Tom introduces and quickly stands to roam around the room.

"As you all know, I have been deeply intrigued into the process of making a Horcrux." He starts and my heart plummets with the reminder that he not only wants to split his soul, but mine too.

"You'll be pleased to know that I am now closer to that goal than ever, in fact. I have actually found my first object to transfer myself onto, curtesy of our dear Adriana here." He motions to me proudly and I slightly move my head to the side, trying and failing to guess what it could be.

"This will be my first vessel." He says as he presents the diary I had bought from that... that day and I audibly gasped.
Convinced that the diary was long gone, that I had dropped it and left it behind. Then I look to Abraxas, shock still plastered on my face as he shoes me a weak smile. Telling me it was him that picked it up.

"Now, in order to perfect this magic, I do need some assistance. Adriana?" He stops behind me, hands on my shoulders as I turn my body to look up at him and nod.

"You, will need to help me retrieve something. A book. Which I believe is being kept by Albus Dumbledore." Nott then scoffs and we all turn sharply in his direction.

"Why send the girl? Anyone of us could do that." He states and Tom looks as if he could kill the boy right there.

"She will do it because she is the only one that can sneak into places that we can't. I don't care much for your tone Nott. But we will discuss this little misshap later." He says with gritted teeth, before carefully relaxing his tone once again.

"Are you able to do that for me love?" He whispers in my ear and I nod to him.

"Lestrange, Avery and Nott. You will accompany me in the chamber of secrets, where the process will take place. And Abraxas, you will accompany Adriana in retrieving the book. It is unknown what kind of symptoms the spell will cause, but from what I can tell it is an exhaustive process, where I may be unconscious for a number of hours, and that's if I'm successful. During this time, Abraxas you will watch Adriana and keep her company while I'm away. Is that clear?"

"Yes, my lord. You have my word." Brax promises and Tom nods.

"Anyone have any questions?" He asks then and Lestrange speaks for the first time.

"When do you wish this to take place?" He asks.

"I will need to assess the current state of Hogwarts first, to assure everyone is still clueless regarding the attacks. Then there's only a number of small things I myself will sort out. I estimate, it will take place around a month into our final year."

In a month's time... that's how long I had with my Tom, before he did something that would change him forever..

Narrator:
This is what Adriana had feared the most, she didn't want to believe that Tom would never really consider making a Horcrux. She also knew that he would expect her to make one too.

Despite her ridiculous wealth, under the surface, Adriana had very little. She only had herself- and yet after asking her for so much he wanted to give up her own soul for him.

She knew she'd never be able to hurt anyone, let alone kill them. This was an argument that Adriana would be hit, or beaten for countless of times in her short life.

But one, she simply wouldn't allow- no matter the consequences. She would stay true to herself till the very end.
