Adriana Black POV:

I wake up to the same tapping at the window as I did the morning before.

"If he sends that bloody bird one more time, I'll hex him." Alex groans, not really a morning person, as she grabs a pillow and throws it at the window, only making the owl squeel more.

I laugh shaking my head as I open the door for the owl.

"What is it?" She asks, unable to contain her curiosity as she sits up, and I walk to her she lifts her covers up and I climb in next to her.

We examine the singular black rose, with flecks of dark blues and purples shine as the light hits it. It's enchanted, my best guess is so it will be preserved like this forever. I've never recieved such a elegant and simple gift before.

"Couldn't he afford the whole bunch?" She laughs at her own wit and I struggle to hold mine down my own as I slap her lightly on the arm.

"What's he said?" She asks, pointing down to the parchment, folded and attached to the beautiful flower.

"I thought you didn't like him? Now you wanna know everything about him." I tell her teasingly as she holds her hands out in surrender.

"I never said I didn't like him. I said he was intimidating but the past two mornings I must admit he seems to like you. I wasn't sure that anyone in this school was good enough for Tom Riddle." She says and I place a hand on her leg in gratitude.

I open the note and Alex scoots up closer to read it.

Adriana,
I would like to introduce you to some of my closest companions. I'll meet you in the common room.
-Tom

"He's incredibly formal isn't he?" Alex says and I nod, smiling to myself. As I place the rose delicately on my dresser, as i start getting ready. Opting to go with a leather long black coat, a beige top and black jeans. My family may not treat me very well, but like most upper class families, they buy me the very best money can buy.

Alex heads to the library as I finish, putting my hair up with a claw clip.

And just as he did the day before, there is Tom Riddle, waiting patiently next to the fire place of the common room.

"Hello Darling, and aren't you just ravishing." He says, standing up and grabbing my hand into his and pulls me close enough to place a kiss on my forehead.

"Likewise, so where are we going now?" I ask eager and nervous about meeting his friends. I barely ever see him with anyone in class, except for me recently.

"Astronomy tower, they'll be there already. They have their reservations about you, but they'll respect you I can promise you that, the only thing they know about you is my liking toward you." He tells me, I wonder why they have reservations towards me? I don't believe I've done anything toward them.

Once again, we roam the halls together, his hand on my lower back. Students once again whisper and stare, recieving multiple hard glares from Tom.

At last, we reach the stairs and finally get to the top when he steps infront to open the door for me and I bow at him in curtesy.

"Adi?!" I hear the voice of Abraxas Malfoy exclaim in shock.

"Brax!" I return his enthusiasm. Abraxas and I have known eachother practically since the womb, in fact he was my first ever friend. Our families are extremely close. I actually think our parents wish we would marry one day, I see him during the lavish balls our families have. For some reason, he prefers not to see me during term though, I'm not quite sure why though.
