Part 6

I wake up in my bunk and stretch. I walk out of the room and head towards Price's office. As I get closer I hear Price yelling at someone but I can't make out what he's saying. I slowly open the door and peak in seeing Price facing the window,

"I don't agree with you...no sir...I understand that...*sigh*... sir let me explain... SHIT!!" Price slams the phone down after the other person hung up. I flinch as he yells and slams the phone. He turns around and sits in the chair pinching the bridge of his nose. I quietly close the door and head towards price and poke him in the arm with my finger. Price turns to face me and smiles,

"Hey princess" he picks me up and hugs me.

"When did you sneak in here?"

"Why were you yelling?" I ask tilting my head to the side as I pull away from him.

"Oh that. It was just work, nothing to be concerned about. Are you hungry?"

I shake my head no,

"Are you sure you don't want breakfast?"

"I'm not hungry" I say shrugging.

The phone rings and price answers it standing,

"Yes this is he...no I wanted...yes sir...I don't agree with that...I know but...yes sir...yes I'm aware but that...*sigh* ...but you said one week...can't we move it further...yes sir...wait...FUCKING SHIT!!" Price slams the phone down harder this time. I flinch and step back from price who's breathing is heavy. He slumps in his chair as he covers his face in his hands.

"Price?" I whisper sheepishly. Price looks up and walks over to me before kneeling before me. Tears fill his eyes as he grabs my arms,

"I'm so sorry princess. I couldn't help you. I tried so hard. Please forgive me." He pulls me into a tight hug. Forgive him? He didn't do anything to me that needs forgiving. What does he mean? I push back from him,

"What do you mean?" I say my voice cracking from anxiety. Price wipes his tears away and pulls me to a chair. I sit down as he kneels infront of me holding both my hands. He can't even look me in the eyes, he's just staring at our hands.

"The higher-ups..." before he can finish there's a knock at the door.

"Who is it?" Price says sternly.

"Ghost and Soap sir" Ghost replies back.

"Sigh* come in."

Ghost and soap walk in and close the door behind them as they see price kneeling in front of me. Price stands up and looks at Ghost and Soap and shakes his head no.

"Ya don't mean?" Soap starts.

"I'm afraid so I was just about to explain the situation." Price looks down at me with a saddened expression. Price kneels in front of me again,

"I've got some...bad news princess...you won't be able to live here with me. The higher-ups want to..." his voice cracks as he starts again, "tomorrow night...some higher-ups are going to bring you back to...to their base."

"Why? I don't want to leave." My eyes fill with tears as I stare at price holding my hands.

"I know princess I know" Price caresses my cheek and I push his hand away getting angry.

"I'm not going!" I yell as I get off the couch. Ghost is blocking the doorway but I try to push my way to the door.

"MOVE!" I punch Ghost repeatedly in the chest trying to make him move. He grabs my arms and kneels down,

"Hey, we don't want you to leave either...but we don't have a say in this."

"I'm not going!" I yell as I try to get away from Ghost's grip on my wrists. Price and Soap are staring at me with saddened expressions as I try and leave.

"Hey. Hey. Listen to me." Ghost says as he cups my face with his hands,

"I promise you, we will do everything in our power to get you back. Okay?" My lips quiver as tears roll down my face in terror and anger.

"I don't want to leave." I whisper as I kneel on the ground covering my face with my hands. My back trembles as I sob. Price kneels next to me and rubs my back,

"We know kiddo. We know."

Ghost strokes my hair,

"It's going to be alright."

Soap watches not knowing what to say or do. He kneels next to me finally and rubs my back,

"I'm so sorry lass. I wish we could have done more fa ya." I can hear his voice strain trying not to cry. I continue sobbing knowing I'm going to be taken away from the few people I grew to trust.
