Part 17 (The Bar)

I changed into Price's sweater that Ghost stole for me before heading out of my bunk. It's 2000 when Soap, Ghost, Price, and I head to the bar. We exit the base as we head towards the bar Soap has picked out for us. As we walk Price pulls my hood over my head hiding my ears from onlookers. My tail is stuffed down the leg of my sweats, very uncomfortable. It's chilly out making me wrap my arms around myself and flatten my ears trying to stay warm. After fifteen minutes we head into the loud and bright bar, Soap leads us to a booth in the corner of the room shaped like a horse shoe. Soap and I take the inside seats while Ghost and Price sit on the outside. Price looks over at me as I rub my arms trying to get warm,

"Is that my sweatshirt kid?"

A grin escapes my lips and I cover my mouth with my sleeves as I shake my head no looking down. Price moves my arm to see the front and sees the coffee stain he couldn't get out,

"That is my jacket you little thief" he smiles down at me as he pinches my side making me laugh.

"I didn't take it" I laugh out as he continues pinching me as I try to push his hand away. He stops before he asks,

"Who took it then, hm" Price pinches his fingers together slowly reaching towards me threatening me. I smile as I push his hand away,

"Okay...Okay...It was Ghost"

"I told ya not to tell ya little brat" Ghost says grinning under his mask.

"Ghost!?" Price yells looking over at him. Ghost shrugs. Before Price can continue a waitress walks up and hands us some menus,

"My name is Lavender and I'll be your waitress for the evening. Do you guys know what you all want to drink?"

Lavender has short lilac colored hair with piercings on her lip, nose, and ears. I look up at her in awe seeing how she can express herself without having to hide. My face drops knowing I will never be able to wear whatever I want outside the base. Soap orders a round of beers to start out with and some chips and salsa. Lavender leaves to get the order while the menus are passed around. Price nudges my arm,

"What's wrong princess?"

"Nothing" I say as I straighten my back up and smile up at him. I look over the menu deciding on (your choice). Price places his menu down before looking over at Ghost,

"This isn't over yet, Simon."

"Awe come on Price, ya know she loves it. You wouldn't take it away now would ya?" Ghost says not even looking up from the menu. I cover my mouth as I try to contain my laughter. I hear a glass break and flinch bad before pulling my legs to my chest as I look around frantically while my breathing quickens. Price sees this and places a hand on my chin guiding it so I look into his brown eyes,

"Hey it's alright. Just some glass breaking, your alright princess."

"Deep breaths lass, In...and out...good again in...and out...there ya go." Soap says rubbing my back. Ghost is looking around for any danger before looking back at me and nodding telling me there isn't anything to fear. Lavender comes back with the round of beers and the chips and salsa, she stands up and looks at me,

"Um...i'm going to need your ID miss"

My heart starts to race as I look over at Price not having an ID. Price pulls out a file and hands Lavender a piece of paper,

"She doesn't have an ID yet, but this should work."

My ears twitch in curiosity as she looks over the paper.
