I woke up hot. Overly so. And I felt heavy. A great weight was holding me down. Alarm bells were going off inside my head, like this was another bad dream, but the weight shifted off my legs and pressed into my backside.

Quickly scrubbing my face, I shifted and looked back. That motherfucker.. But I couldn't be mad. My burrito had completely fallen apart in the night - It had taken me a long time to relax enough to fall asleep as I was willing my unconscious to hold my thin barrier in place during sleep. That didn't work. His long lean frame was pressed up against me. Not only that he draped himself over me.

I slipped from bed easily. My absence caused him to roll over, pulling the comforter over his body as he went. Cute.. Why was that cute? I chided myself and finished dressing.

After getting into the sitting room of the massive guest room, panic set in. Moonie was gone. My coat, her coat, and the blanket were left on the couch, but she was gone.

'Should have left that damned door open,' I muttered aloud as I padded down the hall. 'This damned house is a maze!'

'Moonie!' I whisper-shouted, not really knowing what time it was and not wanting to cause a further ruckus that I did already. Guilt was eating me up.

Eventually, I found her. She was in a large dinning room, happily eating, while sitting with the older woman and man from yesterday.

'ESTRELLA LUCIANNA!' I roared, felling my heart start beating properly again. 'Where? Why?'

'Oh, dear. Don't worry, we have been keeping her company,' announced the older woman who I shot a glare.

'Why didn't you wake me up? You know you have to let me know where you are!' I shouted, still panicked and letting other emotions get the better of me, that irrational fear of her being taken from me.

'I tried,' was her nonchalant answer while she stuffed perfect waffles in her mouth.

I looked at her and crossed my arms. 'You didn't.'

'I did,' she said defiantly.

Narrowing my eyes, I said, 'You only opened the door to see if I was sleeping and snuck off. You are too much like your nosy yeye! You have the same habit.'

She blanched and stabbed a strawberry regaining her composure. 'I love yeye. Don't talk about him like that or I'm telling.'

'You.. I.. GOD!! I'm not arguing with a child.'

The older woman chuckled. 'Ahh, the wonders of parenting. Have a seat, will you?'

I conceded and sat next to my sneaky child. Magically, someone appeared with a plate of beautifully golden waffles. The sweet smell wafted to my nose, and I nearly moaned. My stomach howled in agreement of how delicious they must taste.

'How many have you eaten, Moonie?'

'Two.'

'Please eat some protein, too. I see there are eggs, sausage, and bacon.'

'I know, Mama,' she said adding a sigh at the end. I looked away from her muttering about how I used to have a loving angel who turned into a demon overnight.

The older couple were chuckling amongst themselves. 'So, you are the mother of this insightful child?'

I turned back and looked at the older man, who was smiling at Moonie. 'Yes.. And..' I swallowed, 'I want to apologize for yesterday. Though, I do not regret telling those people off. I do feel sorry that I did it here..'

'Oh.. Hehe.. That was rather entertaining,' commented the older woman. 'Plus, I didn't like that..' She looked over at Moonie too and censored herself. 'That girl either.'
