Y/N POV
In a past life...
What a grim day... you would look around to the many dead bodies laying at your feet. Dead Vidyadhara all around. You'd feel sick to your stomach. What had happened? Was this really the answer?
___
You'd close your eyes and open them again. You were stuck under water. There was a bubble which floated before you. You'd look at it closely. This time it was a different memory which appeared to you.
___
It was a rainy day. You were on a mission with the others. Dan Feng was the one who was gone on this mission. It was rare, but he was needed for some business on the Xianzhou Loufu.
The others were waiting under a gazebo as you would go out to scout with Baiheng. The two of you were talking amongst one another.
"How have things been going for you and Dan Feng?" Baiheng would ask with a cheeky grin.
You'd roll your eyes with a smile. Of course, everyone was painting you and Dan together. Since you were both Vidyadhara and got along a lot better now since you've opened up to the group.
"It's fine. Just that and nothing else," You'd tease Baiheng who wanted to know more details. But there truly wasn't anything going on as far as you could tell. Although there was a hint of interest, someone else was on your mind.
"Then what about Yingxing?" Baiheng asked with a playful grin.
This got you to stop in your tracks as you gave her a look and crossed your arms. "Baiheng, we are here to scout, not gossip like school girls." You'd huff as you continued to walk with her and looked around.
"Yeah yeah. You're just avoiding the question," Baiheng pointed out with the flick of her fox ears.
A smile appeared on your face until you heard something in the bushes to your right. Your hand reached for your katana. "Did you hear that?"
"Hm? Not even my fox ears picked that one up," Baiheng didn't seem concerned as she walked over to where you were looking. When you both made it through the shrubbery you were one step away from falling down a steep hill. Almost a cliff.
The both of you would catch yourselves. But you felt the soft ground slide under your feet. As your weight was thrown back. Baiheng would reach for you but it was too late.
You were descending to the ground below. The trees would somewhat slow your momentum as you'd land with a thud. Thankfully it wasn't steep enough of a drop to cause any broken bones. Your body ached but you were okay besides that.
With a groan you'd take a look at your surroundings. It seemed somewhat familiar since the group traversed through here earlier.
"Y/N! Are you alright?" You'd hear Baiheng shout from above.
"I'm alright! I'll have to find my way back up again." You called back.
