"You gotta be joking" Ida whispered to Dekisugi who who was trying hard to control his laughter seeing the disbelief on the other's face.

"I am not! He just asked for some time"
Dekisugi whispered back.

From the past week, he and Ida had become like best friends. They enjoyed each other company a lot. They could understand each other perfectly even if the other didn't say a word. It would not be wrong, if one regarded them as soul mates.

However, 3 days passed and Nobita didn't give any answer. It was not that he and Dekisugi avoided each other or didn't meet afterward, they did meet to complete the scriptwriting, at the library though. For the whole one-and-a-half hour Dekisugi couldn't adjust himself to sit comfortably. He was anxious to know Nobita's reply. But in the end, Nobita just smiled and congratulated him for completing the assigned work.

He treated him like a friend. Just like before. As if whatever happened between them was completely washed off his memory. And it messed with Dekisugi's sanity even more.

It was the last period and the teacher had handed out the assignments to complete. Except no one but Nobita and Akira seemed interested, not even Dekisugi who seemed to be zoned out.

"Are you okay?" Ida whispered, startling Dekisugi.

"Oh, yeah, I am fine"

Dekisugi pretended like he was concentrating but his partner knew better.

"No you are not, Come on, tell me, what is it?"

Dekisugi didn't reply, but his face said it all.

"Is it Nobita?" Ida asked calmly.

"Ye-yes"

"What did he say?"

"He hasn't said a word, that's the problem"

Ida sighed as Dekisugi looked down. He was embarrassed about his behavior. Why he was so affected by him?

"Look Dekisugi, I hate to break it to you but it seems like you're compromising your mental health and studies in wait for his stupid answer, and judging by his recent behavior towards you, I don't think he wants to be in any damn relationship"

Dekisugi became silent. He was hurt but it was the truth. Nobita was smart enough to understand that his studies mattered more to him, and Dekisugi was simply waiting for the impossible, compromising his grades on the way.

"You are right, it's just that.... I can't get him out of my head"

"You have to"

"I'll try"

"I know it's hard but it's really stupid too, so don't try or think about it, Just forget what happened and move on, okay?"

Dekisugi nodded innocently putting a little smile on Ida's face.

"I just don't want you to lose yourself to love someone okay?"

Dekisugi smiled upon hearing Ida's words. It was lovely to have someone who cared about him.

"Also, self-study hours have started, will you stay?"

"Uh no, I think it's more comfortable to study at home. You probably get more silence and privacy"

"Fair point"

"Are you staying?"

"Just today, I had some doubts about the last assignment, I heard that teachers are available till 5'o clock"
