Kyle's pov

Cristian and I weren't quite sure how to convince Crow to move, but we didn't want to scare him by picking him up or anything.

An idea popped into my head and I asked Crow, "can you show me where your suitcase is?"

He nodded and slowly got off the bed, he reached under it and pulled out a standard issue suitcase. He awkwardly stood up and looked at the floor, I could tell he wanted to get back in bed.

I gently suggested, "why don't you show us where your clothes are and we can help you pack them? I promise I won't touch any more bones, I'm sorry I didn't ask first earlier."

He nodded and showed us that his nightstand was actually a pitifully small dresser. There were only 5 sets of clothes, and they all looked well worn. I could see small rips in some, but they were very neatly folded. He opened his suitcase and put the clothes in, we were going to help but Christian stopped me when he noticed the clothes wrapped up more fragile bones.

Crow carefully placed all the bones on his dresser into the suitcase, then he grabbed the bones from the ceiling. I noticed that they were all connected by the same brown string. He delicately put them in the case, making sure not to break any of them since they were small and fragile. He picked up the rest of the bones on the floor, his room only had a bed and the pitiful dresser. He gently grabbed the deer skull from off the bed and carefully placed it into the suitcase, making sure it didn't crush any of the other bones.

He sat on the dresser and opened the window, sticking his hand out. Cristian and I were worried he'd fall but he quickly pulled back holding a bag. We watched in curiosity as he placed it in the corner, leaving it slightly open. We quickly understood when a bunch of mice ran out from under the bed and into the bag. He sat down beside them, protectively using his body as a barrier to keep the mice safe.

A mouse crawled onto his legs, he patted it's head before putting it back next to the bag, never taking his eyes off of us.

I smiled and told him, "you can bring them too, we don't mind."

He gave me a shocked look, actually looking at my face. He quickly put his head back down as he realized what he'd done.

Christian simply stated, "I have no problems with you bringing them home... but I do ask that you please don't let them crawl on me."

Crow nodded and I looked up as I heard footsteps coming down the hall. The door swung open and I saw Ryan enter with an annoyed expression. He smiled when he saw us, he gave Christian and I a kiss on the head before crouching down in front of Crow.

I informed him, "he's got mice friends. We told him he could bring them home, hope that's okay with you because it's happening."

Ryan chuckled and said, "that's perfectly fine. I did all the paperwork and now he can come home with us."

The annoying woman from earlier stalked into the room and spoke in her annoyingly high pitched voice, "once again, thank you so much for choosing our most troublesome guard. I will warn you again that he is a necromancer and he has a tendency to summon the dead even when he is specifically told not to."

I glared at her and told her, "great. Thanks. You can leave now."

She looked offended for a second before she put on a customer service smile and said, "of course sir." She walked out and I sighed in relief once she was gone.

Ryan asked Crow, "is there anyone you want to say goodbye to? Or things you want to grab? We can stay as long as you want to."

He looked down but nodded yes, he took out his phone and opened an app. We waited patiently before he handed the phone to Ryan, I noticed it was old, scratched and overall in crappy condition. I made a mental note to buy him a new phone, and I wondered what type he would like.
