"How was I inappropriate in the workplace?" Pluto asked, seriously questioning his boss's words. That was thoroughly impossible, as he never wore anything other than scrubs, held back from cursing, and never acted out against his coworkers, no matter how many times he wanted to punch the janitor.

"You have to ask?" His boss scoffed, rubbing a hand through his greasy hair, slicking it back with that alone, "You touched that thing, let alone play games with it."

"It? You mean Asy? The patient?" Now it was Pluto's turn to scoff. He couldn't believe the gall of his boss to call a living person an 'it' outside of one's pronouns. Asy didn't deserve this ostracizing behavior from the one who should prioritize his health.

"That monster yes, you're not supposed to touch them," Pluto grew more and more upset the more his boss spoke. This behavior was disgusting.

"Why?" He asked, eye twitching in thinly veiled rage. His boss then went on a rant, about the Ebott incident, as if Pluto hadn't heard it all before.

"Sir, kindly, were you there during the incident?"

"Well no, but-,"

"Then please shut the fuck up,"

"That is no way to speak to your employer! Why I should have you fired!" His boss went on and on and soon Pluto grew irritable again. His boss didn't deal with what he had, faced the loss he had, during the Ebott incident. He was just another freak who used it for senseless behavior.

"No need, sir, I'm quitting, this is my three weeks notice," Pluto stood suddenly, chair scraping against the floor, harsh to his ears. Yet he didn't care, quite grouchily stepping away.

"What- you can't just quit?!" His boss stuttered, stumbling over his words. He stood reaching for Pluto before sitting again sighing, "Who will we hire?"

Pluto was glad the day was over, after changing from his scrubs he sighed, walking out of the building, Fell was in the parking lot, Pluto was glad he was early.

"Hey you!" A sudden shout from across the parking lot startled Pluto, he ended up looking over there.

Oh more skeletons?

"You've treated Asy so well, compared to his other nurses!" Pluto vaguely recalled the two, from the time they've visited him before. His first day actually.

"Oh yeah, well I won't be able to anymore, I just put in my resignation," Pluto sighed, his head hurt only slightly, a random pain he didn't understand yet.

"That was what I heard, I'm Geno," the skeleton took one of Pluto's hands in both of his, "I need to ask you something important."

"Yes?" Pluto was starting to get a little weirded out, pulling his hand away. He was sure Geno had good intentions, just had trouble executing them, much like him on some days.

"Will you work for me and my husband?" Geno blurted before continuing, "We plan on pulling him out of this asylum and filing a lawsuit for hurting our kid more than helping him."

"Asy is.. your kid?" Pluto took a moment to take it all in, "his file didn't say he had parents, only a brother, deceased."

"Oh! We're not really his parents, but we are? It's a complicated story, we're his friends," Geno played with the fraying edges of a scarf he wore. Pluto stared at him for many a moment, he'd still get to take care of his buddy but under new management, he was unsure.
