Sam panted heavily as he leaned forward to catch his breath before he heard footsteps behind him and quickly turned around to see Dean standing there with wide-eyed shock written on his face. He took notice of a sweat on his forehead and opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. " What happened back there?" Dean questioned as Sam looked away and made a noise that escaped his lips. " I lost it, okay? " He spat as he narrowed his eyes at him. " I don't believe that. You've never snapped like that when I was hanging out with Molly until now? Why?" He inquired as frustration sighed and walked a little ahead of him. Dean speed walks near him. " It reminds me of Dad and you hanging out back then while he taught you how to be a hunter while I was on the sideline." He relieved.
~ Dean POV~
I stared at him in shock as I looked up at him, " He wasn't training me to be a hunter, but instead of a soldier." I told him as he looked down at him with his eyebrows furrowed. " Dad wasn't doing that to make you jealous. He ordered me to protect you like Jess is now for us, and she goes–then all the responsibilities will be on me. " I made known to him. " Dad didn't respect Jess when she showed up because she was hybrids and reminded him of Mom's death. " Sam frowned and stood beside him as I stared into the forest. " Dad was the shellfish and crowd that didn't stay with his kids when they needed him the most. " I clenched my fist and growled. " He fucking started another family!!!" I punched the tree and made a hole.
" Dean, he has chosen to do that. " Sam argued as I glared daggers at him and let my arm fall to my side. " You may be correct, but he could've finished this instead of starting another one. " I heard another step approach, and then Jess appeared. " I don't need to be reminded of Dad or his memories that were good with him before he died," I told them. Jess stood where she was. " I-I am not good because I should've died long ago." Sam shook his head. " Don't say that."
" Why not?"
" Because it's not true."
Jess walked over to me and hugged me. " Sammy, could you leave us alone for a moment?" She asked him as he nodded and wandered off. I looked puzzled at her as she pulled back, " I wanna tell you something that has been on my mind lately," She started as I burrowed my eyebrows forward. " What is it?" She took a shaky breath before she continued. " I am tired of being in this war between good and evil. Sometimes I wanna die and never come back–but I promised Bobby I wouldn't die." I looked down at her as she looked at the sunrise. " You two are old enough to look after yourselves, so when the time is right–I'll sacrifice myself for you two.'' I am in disbelief about that. " This isn't goodbye. You cannot do that." I expressed with a stern tone. Jess lightly chuckled and glanced up at him. " This isn't goodbye, yet it will soon. I can do whatever I want, Dean. " I put my hands on my head and turned away.
" I couldn't handle the weight you're holding on your shoulders, or even let alone take care of Sammy." I blurted out as she moved around me to see me. " You won't be alone to hold this weight because you have Sammy with you. You need to let other people help you and be there," She told me as I moved back. " Why should I? The people that I've let in–they're dead." I let out as she shook her head and took a journal from her bag. " Those deaths weren't your fault. You and I both know that." I glared at her. " Then I blame my demon self because he fucking likes to see me suffer." I snarled.
I took a deep breath before I continued, " I wasn't asked to be made like this." Jess stared up at me with sadness. " I didn't either." She plopped down on the grass as I took the spot near her. " The choices that we've made from the past will come back to hunt us, and I did try my best to keep that from you two, " She licked her lips and let her hands rest on her lap. " My mistakes are burdens that are always hunting me." I raised an eyebrow at her. " It's time for me to move on from everything I have tried so hard to forget, but I couldn't." She spoke gently.
