Chapter 3: Giant Maiden

Adzima POV

Falco:"Next is a girl who has the ability to enlarge parts of her body whenever she wants"
The hologram then displayed images and videos of Verval.
Adzima:"So, are we going to Verval now?"
Falco:"Yes"
We then said goodbye to Aditya and continued our journey to the garage.
Adzima:"Aditya, please take care of this mansion for us"
Aditya:"Just be careful, you two"
We got into the car and headed straight for Verval. Instead of using the tunnel, this time we drove on a road that seemed to be made of glass. After passing the glass road, we arrived at a chaotic yet very peaceful town.

I then asked Falco a few questions while we were driving.
Adzima:"Are you sure you only need me for this?"
He didn't answer and suddenly stopped the car. I saw a body lying on the road. We got out to check, only to find that the person was already lifeless. It wasn't just one body-more were scattered along the road, all seeming to have died from gunshot wounds. Seeing so many bodies at once, I felt a wave of nausea.
Falco:"Are you okay, princess?"
Adzima:"I will be"

We got back in the car and continued our journey until we arrived at what looked like a prison building. There, I witnessed another horrifying scene: the guards were shooting at the possessed locals. It seemed that the corpses we had seen earlier belonged to them as well.
Falco:"I am really sorry you have to see this"
Falco then accessed the hologram on the windscreen to activate the missiles hidden in the front hood of the car. I watched as the hologram began to lock onto several targets before Falco fired the missiles.

The missiles destroyed the prison's front gate and the guard post, killing those who were still busy slaughtering the locals. Falco then entered the prison, and we quickly broke into the main building. Once inside, we were greeted by a hail of bullets from the guards who immediately began shooting at us. As Falco activated his barrier device, I quickly created a water barrier around us at the same time. We soon realized that the locals were still trying to breach into the prison from behind us. Falco and I nodded in understanding: I turned around to fend off the locals and protect our back, while Falco focused on dealing with the guards in front. I tried to subdue the locals without causing serious harm, but Falco didn't even hesitate to shoot and kill the guards attacking us. I shot him a sharp glare but decided to deal with it later.

When we reached the main control room of the prison, Falco connected the prison system to a small computer on his wrist. I immediately confronted him about his earlier actions.
Adzima:"Why did you kill those guards?"
Falco:"They weren't possessed, Princess. They were slaughtering the locals of their own volition"
Adzima:"That is still not a reason to kill them"
Falco:"Stop being naive, Princess. It will ultimately destroy you"
I sighed. I knew he was right, but I couldn't bring myself to agree.
Adzima:"I know it's late, but why are we in a prison?"
Falco:"The girl is here"

Falco took me to the front of one of the isolation cells and hacked the prison system to open the door. From inside, I heard the voice of a tired girl.
Voice:"What's going on now? What do you want?"
At first, I was worried-whoever was locked in isolation must be very dangerous. But my expression quickly changed to excitement and joy when I saw it was Qori, one of my best friends from high school.
Adzima:"Qori!"
Qori:"Adzima!"
We immediately hugged, but our reunion was interrupted by commotion behind us. The Soul Devourers had arrived.

Qori suddenly released my hug and enlarged both her hands. She then looked at Falco and told him to step aside.
Qori:"You! I don't know who you are, but since you're with Adzima, I'll assume you're on our side, so you better move aside"
After Falco move aside, Qori enlarge her hands and clapped her hands, creating a strong wind that blew the Soul Devourers away.
Adzima:"Okay... That was impressive"
But then, I turned to Qori, more serious now.
Adzima:"Now for a more serious topic, Qori, why are you locked up in isolation?"

Qori:"Because of those awful guards. They are allowed to do whatever they want, which is why almost everyone imprisoned here is innocent"
Falco:"Are you sure they are all innocent?"
Qori:"Yes"
Without hesitation, Falco hacked the prison system using the small computer on his wrist and opened all the cells. Then, he used that device again and warned us.
Falco:"Please step away from the wall, you two"
Qori and I quickly stepped back, and the wall behind us exploded, revealing Falco's car parked right outside.

Qori looked at Falco, mesmerized, and then asked.
Qori:"Who are you... really?"
Falco:"You can call me Falco, Qori"
Qori:"How do you know my name?"
Falco pointed toward me.
Falco:"She just said your name a moment ago... twice"
Qori:"Okay, okay, stupid question"
Adzima:"A more important question, how do we get to the car while we're on the fifth floor?"
Qori:"Another stupid question, Adzima"
Without hesitation, Qori jumped out, enlarged her body, and carefully lifted us both, placing us near the car before returning to her normal size.
Adzima:"Right... I forgot"
We then returned to the mansion, where Aditya welcomed us.

Aditya:"Welcome back, guys"
Aditya and Qori exchanged warm smiles.
Aditya:"Hey, Qori, it's been a while"
Qori:"Hi there, Aditya"
Falco:"How was your rest, Your Majesty?"
Aditya:"I rested well, thank you. And please, just call me Aditya"
Falco:"Okay, Aditya"
Qori, confused to hear Falco call Aditya "Your Majesty," leaned in and whispered to me.
Qori:"Did he just call Aditya 'Your Majesty'?"
I nodded and explained.
Adzima:"Ah, yes, Aditya is currently the King of Arts"
Qori:"What? What actually happened while I was imprisoned?"

Adzima:"Like you, I was also confused at first"
Adzima:"But this world is on the brink of destruction, so anything can happen"
Qori:"Makes sense"
Qori:"By the way, why did you bring me here?"
Adzima:"Ah, I almost forgot"
Adzima:"As I mentioned, the world is on the verge of destruction, so we're forming a team of extraordinary people to save it. Will you join us, Qori?"
Qori:"Okay, I'm in"
Falco then approached us and said.
Falco:"Please take a rest, both of you. I need to prepare something before we go"
He then went downstairs to the workshop next to the garage

Qori and I sat on the sofa and talked, with Aditya listening quietly. After a while, I remembered there was something I wanted to discuss with Falco, so I went downstairs to find him.
Falco:"Do you need something, Princess?"
Adzima:"It's about what you said earlier, about not being naive"
Adzima:"I know you are right, but I still cannot agree with you"
Falco:"I understand, and I don't expect you to agree"
Falco:"I just want you to realize that our opponents are not just local possessed people and demons-sometimes, humans can be much more terrifying than the demons"
We then returned to the mansion, where Aditya welcomed us.
