Chapter 28: Diamonds Are Unbreakable

Ina POV

The air felt thick with awkwardness as Captain and Adzima suddenly stopped talking. We didn't know what they were discussing, but it seemed serious. The rest of us looked at each other, unsure of what to say or do. Even the Troublemakers, who usually had a witty remarks for everything, were silent.
Fian:"Psst! Did anyone hear what they were talking about? Why did they suddenly go quiet?"
Dwiyan:"I don't know, I thought they were just flirting like usual"
Artha:"Yeah, me too"
We peeked at them in the cockpit, where the silence was palpable. Qori then nudged the Troublemakers.
Qori:"Hey, why don't you guys crack a joke or do something stupid like usual, to lighten the mood? That's your specialty, right?"

Aditya:"Actually, we would, but we didn't hear what they were talking about before they went silent. We're afraid if we make a joke, it might make things worse"
The other Troublemakers agreed with Aditya's words.
Fian:"Yeah, Qori. We're not always clueless about when to joke and when to be serious"
Qori stared at them with a surprised expression.
Qori:"Wow!"
Riski:"What's wrong?"
Qori:"Nothing, I'm just impressed you guys can still think"
Qori:"I thought you already fried your brains ages ago"

We all burst out laughing at Qori's remark, except for the Troublemakers, who pretended to be offended.
Troublemakers:"Hey!!"
We glanced toward the cockpit, hoping our little joke could ease the atmosphere between them, but to our surprise, they were already flirting again, making us stunned and chuckle a little.
Andika:"Guess we don't have to worry about them after all"
Anjas:"But seriously, why did they suddenly go quiet earlier?"
We all just shrugged in response.

Adzima POV

Falco landed the jet near the abandoned mining facility.
Falco:"Come on, everyone"
Ina:"Aren't we going back to the mansion first?"
Falco:"We are running out of time. This person will be the last one we recruit"
We all nodded and followed him into the facility. The atmosphere inside was eerie and cold; some of us shivered as we stepped inside.
Aditya:"*Sigh, why is it always these abandoned places we go to?"

Edno:"From my experience, abandoned places are the perfect places for hiding during times like this"
Aditya:"I guess you're right"
Qori:"What's wrong, Aditya? Scared?"
Aditya:"No, I'm just still a little bit traumatized by places like this from when Captain punished us for pranking Adzima"
We all laughed remembering that, while Fian also looked as pale as Aditya.
Fian:"Shit! Why do you have to remind me of that punishment again, mate?"
We laughed again, and seeing their reactions, Santa looked at Falco.
Santa:"What did you do to them to make them so traumatized like that, Captain?"

Falco grinned and then told Santa and everyone about what he did to Fian and Aditya. Santa immediately burst into laughter.
Santa:"You're really cruel, Captain"
Anjas:"You're no different, Santa! You scared us half to death in that museum"
Santa laughed even harder reminiscing that moment, then leaned toward Anjas while sticking out his tongue.
Santa:"I'm happy to serve"
Santa then turned to Andika, who looked frightened.
Santa:"You scared too, Andika?"
Santa:"I thought you were good with paranormal stuff since you're a Shaman"
Andika:"I never said I was good at paranormal stuff"

Andika:"Besides, look at Tetron"
Andika pointed at Tetron, who looked a bit scared.
Andika:"He's the one with the title 'The Master of The Mystical Arts', but he's still scared of these things"
Santa laughed again, and Tetron responded.
Tetron:"Sorry for that! I'm still new to this kind of thing"
Hearing this complaint, Falco stopped and turned to us.
Falco:"What are you guys even afraid of?"
Falco:"You've all faced the Soul Devourers-real demons that far more terrifying than just the ghosts and the spirits"

Adzima:"Who said we are not afraid of Soul Devourers? We just had to get used to them"
Everyone nodded in agreement with what I said.
Falco:"Even you, Princess?"
Adzima:"Didn't I already told you that I am not good with scary stuff, My Prince?"
Adzima:"Besides, why do you think I kept clinging to your arm every time we go to abandoned places like this?"
Falco:"I thought it was because you were cold?"
Hearing that, we all sighed deeply.
Adzima:"Please stop pretending to be dense, My Prince, we know you aren't"
Falco:"Okay, okay"

As we were talking, we saw a large diamond pillar heading toward us. Falco immediately used nanotechnology to create a katana and destroy the diamond pillar.
Fian:"Who's that?"
We got into position, and then we saw the silhouette of someone approaching us. When the moonlight illuminated the figure, we saw they were wearing armor made entirely of green and black diamonds.
Falco:"Wait! We are not your enemies"
Falco then signaled for us to fall back, and the man in the diamond armor stopped right in front of us.

The diamond-clad man then apologized to us, confusing us.
Diamond Man:"Oh, it's you, guys. Sorry for suddenly attacking you, I thought you were the possessed locals or the Soul Devourers"
Anjas:"Uh... It's fine... But who are you?"
Diamond Man:"It's me, Robi"
The diamond man took off his diamond helmet, and it turned out to be Robi. Anjas, Agus, and Edno immediately hugged him since they were close friends.
Agus:"Robi, how's it going, man?"
Robi:"I'm good... I think"
Robi:"Glad to see you guys are alright"
I then approached them to explain why we were here, but before I could speak, we felt a huge danger approaching. We quickly used our abilities to form a shield around us.

The facility suddenly exploded, throwing us outside, but thanks to the shield we made, we survived. However, our safety was only partial as we found ourselves surrounded by the Soul Devourers and... The Heroes?
Fian:"What the fuck is this?"
Then, we saw Superman descending from the sky with glowing red eyes. Seeing him like that made us frozen in fear.
"Bang!"
Except for Falco, who immediately shot Superman right in the chest, making him fall instantly. Falco then fought against the Soul Devourers and the Heroes surrounding us.
