Her hair hung loose, streaming in long, tight curls around her head. He loved her hair free of her protective braids, springy in its natural state and had begged her to caress the soft strands. She'd let him, conscious that he'd allowed her to pull at the silky locks of his own hair when they kissed and made love as they were now.

He moved expertly between her legs, filling her so completely that when he pulled out, savouring the feel of her she'd learned since they became intimate, she gasped. He thrust forward, filling her once more with the intensity of his passion. Holding onto those silky strands that he so rarely let loose, she lifted his head that lay in the crook of her neck to look into his jade green eyes.

"Amir," she moaned, a plea.

"I'm here," he breathed, lowering his head to devour her with kisses... "I'm here."

Sanaa shot upright in her bed, heart pounding furiously behind her ribcage. Trying to piece together what she had Seen, Sanaa breathed heavily and felt achy all over her body. Taking deep breaths, she slowly came around to the familiarity of her bedroom, desperate to make sense of the images slowly fading from her mind. The smells, the tastes, the caress of calloused hands along heated skin. Slowly, the sensations dissolved, leaving behind a husk of something that might have been.

A vision or dream? It was hard to tell when her visions came to her whether or not she was conscious. It felt like a vision and she'd had enough of them to know the difference, but it couldn't be right. Her visions always played as though she were witnessing the event through someone's eyes. She'd never considered those eyes could be her own since she'd never left the palace walls. How could she have seen battles when she never left Ahkalthia.

And yet, everything felt so...real. So real, in fact, that warmth still pulsed between her legs, a lingering need she'd never felt before, threatening to heat her body until she melted from the inside out. No, the vision couldn't have been of her and Amir, but then...who was it? Why would anyone wish to torture her with explicit visions of Amir if it wasn't her? God, powers were cruel. Warm and flustered, Sanaa tried to erase the memory of what she'd Seen but she remembered all too vividly how Amir had felt and from the state of her underclothes, her body did too. Sanaa fell back onto her bed, feeling somehow exhausted.

Sanaa's mother had explained that losing her virginity would cause her to lose her power when she'd turned eleven, a year before Ghassan had found her. It was confirmed when the Alamuhim had studied her and provided texts about Seers. Sanaa hadn't understood what losing her virginity would mean for her at the time. That it had become her shield against those who would do her sexual harm was an understanding that had taken root fairly quickly. The fact that Ghassan and any other who saw fit to use her, would not violate her for the sake of losing their military advantage, had made her...sad. She was thankful of course but the reality that someone could never physically love her had taken its toll as she got older. The sex was arbitrary, a physical construct she had nothing to base anything on, but the idea of no romantic intimacy with another person, ever, was what hurt Sanaa most. She'd read books of maidens who saved themselves for the one, their knight or prince who would pluck their figurative flowers, and it would be the most enchanting and liberating moment of their lives. To be taken by a man of your choosing, to want to be vulnerable with him in that way, that despite her abilities was a power she would never hold. There would be no romantic tale for her. Archimedes knew of her sadness about love. She'd mentioned it often enough, but he didn't know about her misguided attraction to Amir. Sanaa knew it was likely to disappoint him, lusting for the enemy, so she kept her feelings to herself. Now, with this vision/dream on her mind, despite his harsh words yesterday, Amir was on her mind again.
