Drew and Kai Being Awkward

When Drew came into my room, the last thing I expected was for him to tell me he had feelings for Kai, of all people.

I was mostly surprised. I mean, it all made sense now. Why he loved shopping, his clothing style, him wanting to help with my hair. Him and Kai's little moments.

"You're not mad, are you?" Drew asked, closing his eyes and preparing for me to lash out or something.

"Mad? How could I be mad? There's nothing wrong with that," I assured him, bringing him into the biggest bear hug I could muster.

Drew let out a sigh of relief. "It's just... my mom wouldn't approve."

My heart melted. He couldn't control this. It wasn't his fault.

"She's not here to criticize you, okay? It's just us. You don't have to worry about a thing," I told him, stroking his fluffy hair gently.

He nodded and gave me a big lopsided smile. He was acting more and more like a little brother to me. I'll be a great older sister to him. And I won't let anyone hurt him.

I let him sleep in my room that night. We mainly talked about things, until Drew got tired and eventually fell asleep.

Kai opened my door. He didn't even knock, but I let it slide.

He stuck his head through and once he saw Drew sleeping next to me and looked at me and raised an eyebrow.

"Did something happen?" He asked.

"Kind of. But it's all good now and you shouldn't be concerned," I replied, waving my hand to shoo him away.

He shrugged and his head disappeared, the door shutting.

Kai went in here just to check on Drew. Interesting. I think they do have something going on. And I was going to let it grow like Thneedville.

"Lynnie, wake up!" Drew's annoying voice that he used to wake me up with rang through my ears like an alarm.

I groaned and covered my face with my blanket.

"Never call me that again, alright?" I mumbled, trying to go back to bed.

Drew sighed and got up. I could tell he was waiting for me to get up.

After I didn't move, Drew tapped his foot impatiently.

"Master Wu told me to wake you up earlier because training starts early," he informed me. I still didn't move.

"I only got like five hours of sleep," I groaned into the blanket that I pushed over my head.

"Cry me a river, Lynnie."

I pushed the blanket off me and glared at him. "What did I say?"

Drew smirked at me. "Get up and maybe I won't call you that."

"Let me sleep and maybe I won't give you a knuckle sandwich," I said.

He merely rolled his eyes and strode out the room. "Don't blame me when your sensei gets mad at you for being late," he muttered, shutting the door.

He was right, dammit.

I reached over and looked at the time on my phone.

5:34. Who in Ninjago decided it was a good idea to wake up this early? Sometimes that's the time I go to bed, and you're telling me people can just jump out of bed at a time like this? The sun wasn't even starting to rise.

Whatever. I'll just have to complain later.

Once I got dressed I headed to the kitchen, still rubbing my eyes and only half awake.
