Seven: YOU'RE WHAT?!

Max:

I sat quietly in my hospital bed until the door opened and Nudge ran in.

"Oof!" I said, as Nudge gave me a huge hug. "Careful. I may be invincible, but I still have a broken arm." She lifted her head, and her big, brown eyes were full of tears. "What's wrong?"

"Are you really pregnant?" she asked, sitting beside me on the bed.

"Oh, that." I looked into her expectant brown eyes. "Yes."

"Oh Max!" She gave me another, less aggressive, hug. "Are you excited?"

"Of course!" I said as Iggy burst angrily through the door, with the rest of the flock in pursuit. His face was contorted in anger.

"YOUR PREGNANT?!?!" He yelled, pointing accusingly in my direction. Gazzy adjusted his finger. Iggy nodded thanks to him.

I sighed, knowing I couldn't get out of this, and unzipped my jacket. I had been in a nursery gown, but I managed to get a hold of some other clothes. When my jacket opened, they all could all see the small lump that was my circular belly. Gazzy whispered to Iggy what they were seeing, and Iggy sucked in his breath. Fang looked as though he either wanted to cry or laugh, but his face still hadn't figured out which. Angel for once did look surprised and Nudge was still crying. Gazzy's mouth was now formed in a small O.

"I can't believe this!" Iggy exploded.

"This isn't any easier for me! I wanted to tell you guys, I did! But I knew you would act like this!"

"It's a big deal! Of course we would act like this!" Iggy shouted, throwing up his hands. "You didn't even tell Fang! He's the dad, isn't he?! Isn't he?!?!"

"Of course he is! Who else could it be?!"

"Iggy, calm down." Fang said, resting his hand on Iggy's shoulder, who shook it off.

"No! She hid this from everyone! She should've told us." This was too much for me. I hung my head sadly, as tears started to spill down my cheeks.

"You're right, she should've. But she knows it and she feels bad so leave her alone." I heard Nudge cut through.

I felt a hand grab mine, and looked up into Fang's protective black eyes that were now filled with rare worry.

"Everyone out. Max needs a minute."

Iggy glared in my direction before walking out. Nudge gave me another hug before following with Gazzy and Angel right behind her.
"Thank you," I murmured when they left.

"Are you okay?" Fang asked, sitting next to me. I shook my head.

"This is too hard for me. I want them to know, but not with them yelling at me."

"They'll get over it."

"Iggy won't."
"Yes he will. Besides, we still need to deal with your mom and sister."
"Right. Hopefully that'll be easier."

"They'll understand," he said, kissing me on the forehead.

"Speaking of which, I think I hear them now." I said, hearing the sound of my sister's special shoes.

Fang sighed and stood up. "I'll go deal with them." "Thank you." I whispered before laying down and closing my eyes.
