─── CHAPTER NINE.
★ : THE REAL STAR𓂃 ᰋ 𓈒 ⸝⸝
...
"after a twenty-minute ride, we're at a very damn dark stadium. excuse me, what the fuck, choi soobin?" she kept her eyebrows furrowed as she stood looking up at the wall in confusion, glancing at him; she huffed as he giggled.
"i know you will love it. now let's climb up that wall; it isn't so high, don't worry." he assured her with a soft smile as they stood before the two-meter-high wall. she gave him a look of disapproval but he shrugged and grabbed a ladder out of the trunk of his car. the ladder from yesterday, she recognized.
"are you in love with this ladder?" she kept her poker face as she spoke and watched him carefully place the ladder against the wall. he was focused as his pouty lips were apart, an airy chuckle leaving his lips at her statement.
damn those soft lips—shut it byeol.
"ladies first" he grinned, urging her to ascend the ladder.
she complied, sitting on the wall and taking in the spaciousness of the stadium. her legs dangled over the edge, and as she looked down, she saw rows of seats below. she hopped down onto one of them, her gaze wandering around as she waited for him. the stadium was cloaked in darkness, giving it an eerie ambiance, but the starry sky above provided a beautiful and less intimidating view.
before long, he jumped down, a small yelp escaping his lips as he joined her. he illuminated the surroundings by using the torch on his phone, and then, with his hand loosely holding hers, he led her over the seats.
"It's a football stadium; come on, let's lie on the grass" he beamed, reclining onto the ground. she simply shook her head and settled down beside his relaxed form, her arms wrapped around herself, her features twisted into a frown. she was on the verge of asking why they were here once again when he gently pulled her down by the wrist, urging her to recline beside him.
she was so ready to vent her frustration and smack him when he pointed a finger at the sky and softly murmured: "see how brightly the stars shine here because it's so dark."
she looked up, a glimmer of admiration lighting up her eyes. the stars appeared even more mesmerizing from her vantage point on the grass, as though she were floating in space surrounded by the radiant stars and the moon. her parted lips revealed her awe, while his own lips curled up as he observed the star next to him. he couldn't help but feel a warm sensation in his heart at her genuine smile. his admiration mirrored her own, if not surpassed it.
"last night, you missed out on stargazing because of my sudden visit- so i wanted to make it up to you" he smiled, his hands cradling his head as he stole a glance at her. she briefly returned the smile and nodded before turning her gaze back to the night sky.
