Vanity

I'm not sure exactly how many hours had passed since Chastity and I last saw that man who we apparently belong to but one thing I was sure of; we were in a shitload of trouble. I'm not one to choose vulgar language like that when not in a heated argument but there was no other word to describe this situation. The man had told us to wait till someone came back to get us, not saying when or who but I wanted to see CJ come back.

He is coming back... right?

I sat down  with my back against the wall just below the window. My legs had grown tired of standing but Chastity wouldn't settle. I wasn't settled and relaxed either but I at least took a seat. She had been pacing back and forth across the small space of the empty room ever since he left. She'd bang on the window as if trying to break it, screaming to get someone's attention but no one came around.

"Chastity, you're wasting your time." I finally spoke out to break the heavy silence. "There's no way out and we just have to wait for him to come back."

"I want out now. This is ridiculous, he can't just keep us trapped in here like caged dogs. I want out of this God damn fucking room! And I want to beat the living shit out of CJ!" She yelled as she went into another fit of rage, hitting the window and screaming out more profanities.

I looked around the room for the hundredth time in the past five minutes. There was nothing but four walls, eight corners, a window and a locked door that contained us. Neither of us had our phones so we were helpless. I picked myself up and looked out the window to see two empty halls, one leading left and the other leading right but not a single soul was walking through either of them.

"We have to get out. We need to find a way out right now." Chastity said when she calmed herself down. She backed away from the window and ran her hands through her hair, letting out a deep breath. "You wouldn't happen to have a bobby pin on you right now, huh?" I shook my head."There goes that idea."

Some more time had passed and there was a turn of the lock outside our door. It creaked open but this time it was a different man. Shorter than the last but his movements were fluid, he closed the door behind himself and pulled the corners of his mouth to a small smile.

"What do you want?" Chastity spat at him. She was feisty as I've quickly learned and I pulled her back so she didn't do something that might get us into even more trouble than we were currently in. He chuckled with a shake of his head but held his hand out.

"I'm Marquis." He said. When neither of us took his hand, he lowered it down to his side. "I'm going to let you two out without restraints, but if you try to run or attack, there will be consequences. Just follow me to the main room and there will be no problems, understand?" The both of us nodded and he smiled even more. "Good, let's go." He opened the door and held it open for us.

We listened to him and complied. Even if we chose to run, where would we go? I don't know where an exit is and what if I run into the wrong room to find the wrong people? I wanted to get out of here just as much as Chastity but with the odds of us actually getting out so low, it wasn't worth the risk.

There were many more rooms that reminded me of cells as they lined up the left hall. I didn't know if they were empty but the hall was very dimly lit yet we kept following him. Chastity kept looking back to the right hall and even started to slow down her steps but I kept her walking, shaking my head at her. The temptation and natural urge to run was there but I wasn't going to let her just attempt to leave. Having her as company by my side made me feel like there was still hope. I was looking around and didn't notice he had stopped walking so I bumped into him but instantly took a few steps back. Around his wrist were a set of keys, with it he chose one to unlock the door and motioned for us to walk through.
