Disclaimer ~ Yes the chapter title was inspired by the movie 'A Sort Of Homecoming' starring Laura Marano. Credit goes to the makers and creaters. Anything you recognize from this book are not my ideas. Enjoy! By the way, when is that movie coming out? Does anyone know? Or am I really late and it is out...?

Ally's POV:
I pulled out all of the books I already used in my day and shoved them on the top shelf of my locker. I quickly threw my long, semi greasy hair into a pony tail.
I'm not exactly what you'd call "pretty." Coming to school in large zip up sweaters and jeans all the time isn't necessarily a big fashion thing in high school I guess. But to be totally honest, I didn't really care.
"Yes! We kicked ass last night!" I hear a loud, familiar voice say down the hall. I can't help but smile and roll my eyes. That voice could only come from the one and only, Austin Moon. He is a huge jock. He's popular, he's captain of the football team, hell he's even a good actor in drama class. The guy also just happens to be my best friend.
Totally unrealistic, I know. What jock would want to hang out with someone like me? That question you'll need to ask him. I guess it's the fact that our mom's were best friends, currently still are. We grew up together. He's like a big brother to me. As loud and obnoxious as he can be, he's actually really kind and sweet.
Austin slowly strolls up to my locker. "Hey, there's my favorite girl." He says teasingly.
I smile and shut my locker door. "What do you want?"
"Ooo someone's moody." He says. I just grin. "Tonight's homecoming. When am I picking you up?"
I shake my head in shock. "Woah woah woah." I say, holding up my hand. "I already told you, I'm not going to homecoming."
He crosses his arms. "Ally, c'mon. This is a huge dance and you're a senior now. Make this last year count."
"I don't even have a dress."
"We're going to change that." He says with a smirk. "After school meet me at my car. I'm taking you shopping."
"But I-..." I begin, trying to protest.
"Shhh." He says as he lifts up a finger and places it lightly on my lips. "My car. After school." I mean to say more to him, but he just brings me closer and gives me a small kiss on the forehead. "Love you!"
And then he disappears down the hallway. What did I just get myself into?

Austin pulls the car into the parking lot, then shifts it into park. "Alright. Let's do this." We exit the car and make our way into the mall. I hadn't been to a mall for quite a long time now. I forgot how huge they are. Austin grabs my arm and begins to pull me in the direction of a prom themed store called 'Razzle Dazzle.' "You can definitely find a dress in here." He says.
I slow down our walk and make him stop at the entrance. "Austin, I can't do this." I say quietly.
He gives me a confused look. "What's wrong?"
I sigh. "Homecoming is where all the popular people go. All the people with lives. I'm not that kind of person... I don't know if I should go..."
"Hey, don't say that." Austin says, slowly lifting up my chin. "Homecoming is for people who want to go and have a great time with their friends. Guess what you and I are?" I stare at him, feeling a small smile creep onto my face. He smiles. "C'mon, answer."
