**Her company would always brighten my day.**

I tapped lightly on the keys of my piano, trying to finish up a song I had started writing earlier today. I rubbed my eyes and yawned. I woke up early this morning, around 6 a.m. Right now it's about 4 o'clock in the evening. I was hoping to get some work done for our new album. Just wanted to make sure I had enough time, even though I was exhausted.

I played a few more notes, when suddenly I heard a knock at my door. I slowly turned to it. "Who is is?" I ask.

"You're favorite person in the whole wide world!" A cute voice calls.

I smile and roll my eyes, knowing now who it is. "It's open."

Then not a moment later, in comes my petite best friend, Laura Marano. She gave me a smile. "Hey blondie." I chuckled. Usually I don't let people call me that, but I let it slide with her. She strolled over to me and placed her hands on my shoulders. "Whatcha up to?"

I shrug. "I'm trying to write a song. Well, more like finish it." She giggled, then started to massage my shoulders. I closed my eyes and dreamily sigh. "Laur... don't. You're making me tired..."

"Then take a nap! You're obviously sleepy already." She scolds playfully.

I turn my head and look up at her. "I have to finish this song."

She smiled. "But you need rest. You're gonna do better writing with a refreshed mind than with a tired one."

I stare up at her with an obvious grin. "Dude..."

She then sighed. "Alright... Fine... I'll just... go..." She says, slowly walking towards my door. "All alone... Feeling sad... Because my best friend abandoned me..." She was now all the way out the door. I rolled my eyes and smiled.

"Wait..." I call out. After a second, she popped her head in again, looking like an innocent little girl. I motioned for her to come to me by opening up my arms. She slowly walked over to me. I wrapped my arms around her waist and grinned up at her. "I'll take a nap, on one condition..."

She smirked. "And what would that be?"

"If you take a nap with me." I say with a peachy smile.

She laughed and pulled me up out of my seat. "Deal." I walked over to my bed and lied down. It felt good to relax. Laura slowly cralwed in next to me and slid on top of me. I smiled, then wrapped my arms around her hugging her down onto my chest. "You sure I'm not a bother lying here?" She asks.

I shake my head. "You're just fine." I could feel her lips smile against my skin, which only made me smile too. "But you are cold." I tease.

She laughs. "I'm sorry! I'm always freezing."

I chuckle and sneak my hand under her shirt. I rub her cold back with my hand. "I'll warm you up." She hugs me tighter in response. Just to mess with her, I take my finger and run it lightly down her spine. I can feel her shiver at my touch.

"Don't do that, Ross..." She says sleepily. I smirk to myself and just go back to rubbing her back.

"Night." I whisper through her hair.

"Goodnight." She replies before falling asleep in my arms.
