Chapter 20: Life Changing Mutation

I followed after my sister as we snuck out of the sewers and up to the surface. Karai led the way over to Shredder's lair by stealthy sneaking in through the roof where part of the window was shattered and wide enough for us to sneak inside.

We easily took down the foot bots that were in our way and snuck up to the shadowed figure sitting down on the throne of the front entrance. Only... once we jumped down to take out the figure, it wasn't Shredder. Only a chrome dome robot in his spot.

"That tricky little-" The sudden sounds of hard footsteps cut me off when the person we were after finally showed up.

"Shredder..." Karai hissed out his name full of venom and hatred.

"Karai, you have returned sooner than expected. Especially with this coward of a child." He glared at us both through his metal helmet.

"I'll show you a coward when your face is all bloody from my fists!" I shouted at him and instantly ran up to attack him. Of course, I was pulling a Raph. Merely attacking out of anger and spite with no plan so I was easily punched aside. But like always I got back up onto my feet as Karai took the next move to aim an attack on him.

"The time has come for me to say goodbye, Shredder." She stated as she threw a smoke bomb in his direction, causing smoke to blind him so she could land a decent attack on him from the front. He managed to block her however I took the chance to run up from behind and side kick his legs which only made him tumble before he grabbed my arm and tossed me out the way. Curse my body for being so tiny and weak. But I'm not giving up!

"You call me a coward! Yet you're the one who hides his face behind a helmet while you send your mutant and robot henchmen to do your dirty work!" I shouted at him, tossing my tessens up his way which barely made it past his face as he easily dodged them.

"You are only lucky to be alive for this long, girl." He glared my way.

We tried to fight him off as long as we could but I was punched hard in the side which sent me flying to the ground as he knocked Karai over and pinned her down using the blades of his steel claws.

"This has gone on far enough!" He bellowed just as the lights turned on to reveal the many foot bots and his henchmen that were surrounding us.

I glared at them all, pounding my fist into the floor in anger. I just wanted one good hit on this guy! I'm not useless!

I watched Shredder toss Karai over into Tiger Claw's arms to keep her from trying to escape as Rahzar came over to pick me up.

"Hey! Hands off me you mangy dog! I can walk myself! Let me go! I am a biter!" I threatened. Just I was about to bite down onto his boney skeleton like arm he quickly pulled his arm away to choke hold me.

"I've grown tired of your games, girl." He growled.

"Ugh. And I've grown tired of your breath. Take a mint." I sassed back.

"Do not mock me!" Rahzar shouted angrily.

"Enough! Take them both to Stockman's lab." Shredder ordered and the two mutants that held us hostage just nodded and led us out of Shredder's lair, forcing us into a van before driving off. Karai and I were silent the whole ride as he pondered on what Shredder has planned for us.

When we get there, we were forced and dragged inside to an abandoned warehouse that became Stockman's new lab and we saw that the mutant fly was mixing a batch of chemicals into a massive canister of mutagen.

"Stockman! Is the mutagen ready?" Shredder asked.

"Yesszz, maszzter. The serpant DNA is ready." He nodded just as he poured the beaker full of chemicals into the giant canister of mutagen. It was big enough to hold a ton of people!
