Maihime followed the teacher's instructions and tips on their newest dance. To think, Maihime mumbled as she replicated something identical to her teacher's previous dance moves. To think, I've been here for 2 months now... Maihime talked to her family and friends back in Kento whenever the opportunity showed itself, which realistically, wasn't much.
What with all her energy being drained from her dances, Maihime usually showers and sleeps before repeating the day all over again. Stretching and then dancing for hours on end. Maihime didn't expect it to be easy, but she didn't expect it to be so difficult either-- The reminder of her underestimation still manages to get under her skin.
Maihime still had those enemies prowling around her. Although she had no idea where their energy had come from, Maihime wished she had it. And that was the only thing she wanted of theirs-- Certainly not the false friendship they had been offering ever since they realized threats didn't work on the brunette. Apart from the provincial life Maihime was now living, she occasionally got a shock of fun here and there. Sota was great entertainment, and I don't mean in that way.
Sota was really charismatic and easy to get along with. Not to mention, he was positively easy on the eyes, which made Maihime's reputation even worse amongst the girls. Sota was...Childish, but he definitely had his moments. He was a perfect friend, and he was always going to be a friend. No, Maihime didn't friendzone him! Sota's faithfully involved with a girl back in his home region, and she's perfect for him. In a way, Sota really reminded Maihime of someone she thought was special. Which brings us to the next topic.
Kise.
This was the only thing Maihime was unaware of. They talked whenever the chance showed itself, but the kiss seemed to disappear in thin air. Like the previous two they had shared- for once, Maihime wanted to look further into that. The first one, she had told herself, was just proof. The second was because he could and any normal teenager would take the opportunity.
But what was their latest interaction? Was it because of the heat of the moment? No, Maihime had always told herself. The kiss was inflicted because of her, unlike the others that Kise had urged. Maihime constantly wondered the same questions:
Did I do something wrong?
Did Kise not want a kiss?
Have I forever ruined our relationship?
and the most worrying in her opinion:
Will he sweep it under the rug like the last two?
Maihime hated reading between the lines, or over thinking a situation. She prefered to go with the flow and let things happen but she couldn't watch by this time. Maihime finally wanted to take action, to confront someone, and she didn't know how she felt about that. Sota would have been no help because his advice was always the same.
"Just ask him how he feels."
While in most cases that would be amazing advice, Maihime wasn't normal. She didn't want to completely embarrass herself. What if he knew the intentions of the question, but didn't like her at all? Then what? Maihime had always gone by the 'Boys make the first move' rule. And she was getting antsy waiting for Kise to hurry up.
But onto the life situation on hands, Maihime was huffing and puffing by the end of rehearsals. She easily downed three bottles of water as did her colleagues in the room. All were in the same, if not worse, condition as her. Show Stoppers, ironically, didn't stop with the dancing. Completely hypocritical to their name.
"Erm, Maihime Katsumi!" Maihime perked up from her spot in the corner of the room, ignoring the girls whispering about what the call over would be about. She always ignored them, it made her dancing life easier. Plus, they took her threat seriously so talking behind her back was the worst they could do.
