Kaijou High School.
Kise's day didn't revolve around finding Maihime, he was busy with his classwork and with basketball so the occasion never showed itself. He didn't change personality wise either and continued on as normal, his basketball increasing in skill like usual, his butt being kicked by his senpai for being cocky.
The next day he failed to even catch a glimpse of Maihime. Although her hair color was average around the school Kise knew even if he caught a glimpse of her hair he'd know it was her, it helped she was small and had amazing blue eyes. It wasn't that Kise liked her more than a friend, but he knew she was a friend. He kept his friends really close even if they didn't like it.
The next day...a no show. She wasn't joking when she told him that she rarely showed her face to everyone, Kise began to 'research' and ask around if anyone knew where her dance group usually practiced but he didn't get much information. He trained with less enthusiasm as he began to think about where they'd possibly practice.
Where?
Kasamatsu yelled at him for being distracted and threatened to hit him after he hit him. It was almost a routine now but neither were getting bored of it. Kasamatsu was nearly as big of a tsunadere as his former teammate, Midorima Shintaro, was so the relationship between the two was complicated yet simple at the same time.
"Hey, senpai." Kise said as he dabbed his face with a towel, the teams training over for the day. His third year captain looked up and grunted as he quenched his thirst with urgency.
"Do you know Maihime Katsumi?" Kasamatsu surprisingly chocked on his water and Kise comically panicked but Kasamatsu regained his composure before coughing and glaring at Kise confused and slightly embarrassed.
"Why do you ask?" It was obviously he did due to the reaction and with the recent question, Kise began to think of how exactly they knew each other but he answered nontheless.
"Because I can't find her, maybe you can help. She helped me a couple of days ago during the storm." Kise explained briefly with a thumbs up before he drank the remaining liquid in his water bottle. Their coach had given them a hard training session to prepare them for the Interhigh that was coming up soon.
Kasamatsu furrowed his eyebrows before deciding to answer, "I do know her, she's my cousin." Kise chocked on his water this time. "Oi! Don't act so surprised, I'll hit you!" Yet Kasamatsu had already hit Kise. "And if you can't find her, then stop looking. Katsumi doesn't really like the students here, she's probably purposely avoiding you."
Purposely avoiding him.
That was the only solution running through Kise's head as he wondered around the area trying to kill time. He was being avoided. His ego was finding it difficult to believe that a girl was avoiding him, normal girls would cling to his arm but then the logical side was reminding him that Maihime was no normal girl.
He walked and walked until he eventually stopped to see the two empty street basketball courts. He didn't even think about playing or training. He didn't really like basketball. He had no challenges. It was boring. Maybe that's why Kurokocchi left...Kise frowned, something strange on the bubbly blond before he turned around and aimed to stomp away but instead bumped into someone.
"Uh, sorry..." As Kise helped the person up he recognized the clothing, "Himecchi!" He exclaimed surprised and overjoyed. Was this fates way of telling him not to give up on finding her? Maihime straightened out her clothes and looked up to meet Kise's delirious honey eyes.
She didn't expect to see him in a while, "Kise-kun, why are you still wondering around school late?" She asked as she shifted her bag her shoulders. She was asked to stretch a lot today and they rehearsed a lot of dances, her muscles were screaming in pain.
