For The Best, She Said.

"It'll get better," Kasamatsu reassured emptily. The circles under is eyes rivaled a panda bear's and his voice reminded Maihime of a zombie. She loathed zombie's. "Just... Just don't give up on the hope--"

Maihime covered Kasamatsu's mouth with her hand and shook her head. "Go home, Yuki-kun. You're falling asleep as you speak, it isn't safe." His posture straightened immediately at her accusation and he slapped himself on the face multiple times, causing Maihime to give him a pitiful look.

"Nope, I'm fine. I'm just a little hungry, are you hungry? Has the hospital even given you lunch yet?" He talked quickly and his voice had kicked itself up a notch, exaggerating how 'awake' he was being. Maihime would've laughed if she wasn't the reason for his fatigue.

She patted his knee, silencing him. "Yuki-kun, it's 10 PM. You should get back to your own bed, get a good night's rest for school tomorrow." He frowned as if the very idea of sleep offended him. "Your teacher's will murder you if you fall asleep in class. I don't suppose Uncle would be very impressed himself, actually..."

Kasamatsu let a long groan drag out, "You don't get it, Katsumi-chan! It's flown straight pass you! I can't leave, something bad might happen and I swore to protect you but then I left and this happened so I'm not leaving and that's final now please leave me alone." There was no pause to breath, so when he finished he breathed desparately.

Maihime shook her head, "Yukio, I'm in the hospital. I'm safe from him, I have been for a couple of weeks now. You, on the other hand, aren't looking to peachy. Go home." He opened his mouth for what Maihime could only assume to be a protest, "Please, Yukio. For me." He squirmed before huffing and stood up quickly, picking up his coat as he did so.

"If something happens, call me straight away." He said seriously, eyes tired but steely as he stared straight into Maihime's soft pleading ones.

She nodded anyway, "Yeah, I'll call you in the middle of a heart attack. Don't worry," When he jolted in worry, she gave him an irritated frown. "Yukio, there's no reason for me to get a heart attack so don't worry about it. Now leave, before you pass out on my floor." He grumbled but trudged out anyway, and Maihime could hear his mother thank her from the door way. Maihime could only imagine how antsy she was getting, going between the hospital and her house for hours because Kasamatsu simply refused to leave her side for anything other than school.

She was supposed to be in the hospital for ten weeks. They'd have let an adult out, but because she was a reckless teenager they didn't exactly trust her to leave their protection unless it would be to drive her to another ambulance- but it wouldn't come down to that so she didn't worry about leaving anytime soon. The first week was a pain in the ass (and ankle) for everyone to deal with. Maihime simply wouldn't come to terms that she couldn't dance again and shot down anyone who tried to tell her otherwise- especially if they entered her room with a clipboard and nurse shoes. Unless you were a family member, Kasamatsu didn't let anyone visit her that week.

During the second week, she eased up and accepted reality, though she did get sour when someone mentioned her dancing career. It was a week of self-loathing and visits from Kaijou and even Izuki, which Kise wasn't pleased with at all. Kise visited every single day, chatting endlessly. He was the only one who didn't mention her ankle and talked as if she were okay and damn, she was grateful for that. Having Kasamatsu cry over her was more than enough... Even though he did more plotting for revenge than actual crying.

By the third week, the Winter Cups had flown by and Kise had texted her every single detail. He forgot to text one day though, and when inquired, it was revealed that he had come into contact with Haizaki.

And according to a surprising text by Shuiro (How she managed to get a hold of her number, Maihime would never know) it took everything to keep Kise from completely murdering Haizaki on the spot. Alternatively though, Kaijou thrashed his school by miles. Admittedly, when he was mentioned, the doctors had to rush to Maihime's room because of a spike of heart rate.
