Alfea was wholly different now, the second semester of the year had begun.

First year fairies were being taught to fight with their emotions, Rosalind's tactics were manipulative, and harsh.

Andreas took over as the specialist headmaster, he was brutal, and result oriented.

Overall Alfea had become a military school, solarian soldiers were posted throughout the campus, students had been expelled, and a few had simply disappeared.

School attendance was made mandatory, no one could quit.

Talia pulled her earbud out as Stella nudged her, she'd been tuning out Rosalind's lecture, but now Rosalind had selected Bloom from the crowd, to face off against Marco.

It would hardly be a fair fight given Blooms incredible power, except recently she seemed to be slipping, or more likely downplaying herself, refusing to be Rosalind's prize.

Marco- an air fairy- shot a zap of electricity Blooms way, she snapped her shocked hand back with a gasp, extinguishing the fire in her palm.

"In combat, you'll need to rely on instinct."

Talia winced as Marco repeatedly zapped the fire out of Blooms hand.

Bloom let out a frustrated howl and ignited both her hands lunging towards Marco, her eyes shining amber.

But just as quickly as she'd snapped, she extinguished the fire, conceding and joining her friends in the crowd again.

Rosalind looked pissed, Talia smirked at that.

She and Bloom hadn't exactly been besties this term, but she'd always admire Blooms nerve.

The class dispersed, but as Talia turned to hike back to the school Rosalind called out.

"Bloom, Talia, I'd like to see you each in my office."

Evidently she wanted to see them separately, so Talia paced irritably outside her office as she spoke to Bloom.

With nothing better to do, she listened in.

"Middle of the pack. I've been evaluating students over the past month, and that's where you land."

Rosalind stated.

"Better than the bottom. I try my best."

Bloom excused.

"Bullshit. You transformed last year. Turned the school upside down looking for answers. You're powerful. This is a choice."

"When Dowling was headmistress, I was doing really well."

Talia smirked at this.

A large percentage of the student body had simply adjusted to the new Alfea and moved on, but a few students were still holding out for Dowling, not believing she'd simply run away.

"Loyalty is important. It should be valued.

of locking me under the school or if she just simply saw the writing on the wall when Luna reinstated me, but she ran."
