Luke hurriedly gathered his books as the English lecture ended, his mind racing with a mix of curiosity and unease. He had noticed something different about Ashton lately, something he couldn't quite put his finger on. The honey haired boy was starting to ignore him and barely smile at him during class. He figured it had something to do with Sierra and he desperately wanted to fix things between them.

As the classroom emptied, Luke spotted Ashton's familiar figure disappearing through the doorway. He knew he had to catch up with him to talk, to understand what had changed in their friendship. He quickly turned to Michael. "Hey, i'm gonna catch up with you later. I really have to talk to Ash." He said hurriedly.

Michael nodded his head. "Yeah, sure. Just text me tonight and we can hang out."

"Yeah, I will. See you later. Hope you have a good afternoon." Luke said with a smile which Michael responded with an equally as soft smile. When he entered the crowded hallway, Luke glanced around to try and see if he could spot Ashton. He said sorry to a few people after barging past them. Luke finally managed to catch a glimpse of Ashton's golden hair as he turned a corner. Luke quickened his pace, calling out for the other boy. "Hey, Ashton, wait up!" He called.

Ashton stopped and turned to see Luke hurrying toward him. There was a hint of surprise on Ashton's face but he waited. "Uh, hey Luke. What's up?"

Luke tried to catch his breath before he replied. "You walk fast." He muttered as he shoved his backpack on properly.

"Yeah, sorry. I've gotta get to my next class." He replied with a curt nod.

Luke nodded slowly. "Yeah, I know. Sorry. I just, I thought we should talk, ya know? I feel like you've been avoiding me."

"Have I?" Ashton asked with fake surprised look on his face. Luke could see through that fake look though and he knew that Ashton was in fact avoiding him.

"Can we talk for a second?" Luke asked hopefully.

Ashton looked hesitant but eventually nodded his head. Luke threw him a small smile to ease the tension that the golden haired boy was probably feeling and nodded in the direction of the exit. They walked outside and found a bench. Both boys sat down and let out small sighs.

"I've been meaning to talk to you about something." Luke hesitated, unsure how to bring up Sierra without sounding too possessive or whatever. He needed to set the record straight. "It's about you and Sierra. I think you know that."

Ashton's expression shifted, and he looked slightly uncomfortable. In an instant, he turned to Luke and his eyes were pleading. "Oh my, God. Luke. I'm so sorry. I don't know what I was thinking going after your girl like that. It's just that I saw you were avoiding her at the party and I assumed that you didn't wanna be with her anymore and one thing led to another and-"

"I'm not mad at you!" Luke butter in in a loud voice when he realised that Ashton looked like he was about to start hyperventilating.

Ashton snapped his mouth shut. He looked at Luke and raise an eyebrow suspiciously. "You're... not?"

"No." Luke said with a smile. Luke decided to be honest. "Yes, I kinda used to have a crush on Sierra but that ended a while ago. We're just friends now and we've spoken about that. It really wasn't anything serious."

"Oh." Ashton murmured, looking down at his lap.

"Ash, i'm happy for you. Honestly. I've been wanting to tell you for like a week but you've not come to class and you've not answered any of my text. I thought it would be easier to tell you in person because I knew you'd probably behave like this. Trust me, I'm not angry at you. If anything, I'm happy for you. I'm happy for her too. She deserve someone who is actually interested in her. We only talked briefly anyway." Luke told his friend in a gentle voice.
