Sonic was lying in bed, hating himself for letting his father walk all over him just now, and tried to close his eyes to sleep it off but the lights in his cell suddenly turned back on with the cell door being unlocked.
the door swung open, revealing Shadow with a bloody sword in his hand, and quickly stepped in to then grab the teen's hand.
Shadow: let's go, Sonic
Sonic: huh, who are you and what are you doing here
Shadow: getting you out of here of course, that's what you requested from me, so hurry before more guards show up
Shadow pulled Sonic with him out of the cell and saw Rouge finishing off a couple of the guards that was watching the other cells in the dungeon.
Rouge: your highness we must be off now
Sonic looked at the guards laying on the ground and saw they were only slashed and luckily still breathing
Shadow: don't worry, we only injured them, so they couldn't be able to warn anyone that we are down here
Sonic: I see but are you...
Sonic never met the king of dark realm face to face before but he knew that he was standing in front of him as he introduced himself to the teen
Shadow: yes, my name is Shadow and the king of dark realm and I was here to thank you personally and grant you a wish, but now I think it will be best if I take you back to my realm with me

the next morning:
Sonic and his family was sitting in the lavish dinning room for their morning meal when one of the servants disturb them and said Shadow must of already left
Jules: he's gone? why would suddenly go take off without notifying anyone
Allena: he probably had some urgent business in his own kingdom, why don't you just worry about Sonic for now since you said he made some improvements last night
Jules: yes my queen, we might be able to talk to each other today rather than fighting and he really was a lot calmer last night and even allowed me to hug and praise him for all his hard work on his studies
he said as he smiled and was looking forward to see his son today with Sonia and Manic asking when they will be able to visit their brother
Jules: hopefully soon with him having a better attitude and a better understanding of his future role
Manic: I sure hope so, it's rare to have him home before you put in the cell, and we will be able to get close to him again like we did before
Sonia: he was always there when we needed each other so it would be nice if we can have him back like that again
Jules: he will be and I'll see if you can see him later. it would probably make him happy too
Jules finished his meal and collected Sonic's that was on the table ready and, headed down to Sonic cell and reach his pocket to get the key for the cell only to be worried as he couldn't feel it there
Jules: no, I'm sure I had it in my pocket last night...huh...WHAT HAPPENED HERE!
Jules entered the dungeon, dropping the plate of food as he saw all of the guards that was assign to work down there have been all injured, bleeding and out cold. he heard a groan from one of them and bend down to ask what happened to all them
'the king....from dark realm....took the....prince'
Jules quickly look at the cell that Sonic was supposed to be in and saw it was open, rushing inside to see that he was no longer there
Jules: no....not him....you bastard Shadow...you'll pay for this if you harmed my son in any way

a couple of hours later:
Sonic made a yarn before opening his eyes after falling asleep in the carriage last night and notice he was still inside, laying on the seat with his head on something warm but firm, sitting up he then notice he was next to Shadow and then realized that he was sleeping on the kings legs. with the teen quickly explaining that he didn't mean to, Shadow only chuckled as he gave the teen an amused look
Shadow: you fell asleep on the seat but you were swing around every time the wheel hit a hole on the road, so I put your head on my lap just in case
Sonic: oh, uh...thanks I guess, but now that I'm awake. why are you taking me with you?
Shadow expression turned serious as he explained what he was told about what happened between Sonic and his father
Shadow: I was there when your father had you thrown in the cell but I was then informed that he was forcing you to become the next in line for the throne and that he even slap you at one point while you were in there
Sonic: well yeah that did happen and yeah he is kinda making me take his place but I..
Shadow: you don't want that, right?
Sonic: no, not really. I just want to be me and explore while I try new things the world has to offer, but my dad don't really like that idea
Shadow: that is why I extended your request to taking you to my realm, where your father won't be able to touch you again
Sonic: really. you don't have to do that, just taking me out of the cell is enough
Shadow: no I insist. I have seen a case like yours before and in the end, the father died in the hands of his son.....this was what I think would be best for you and what I can do since I owe you my life as well as my realm
Sonic didn't know what too say back to Shadow as he could tell that Shadow was serious about his and Jules relationship, thinking also that it would be a good idea to stay away from the light realm for a while and accepted Shadow's offer
Shadow: good, I'm glad you accept my offer. you will be staying in my castle as my guest for as long as you like
Sonic: thanks for putting up with me till then and I really appreciate you getting me out of that cell. I thought I would have to consider being the future king at one point since I was only having him visit me
Shadow: then it's official. my kingdom will be your new home
