in the light kingdom:

Jules: tell him that I want my son back or it's going to be war!

Jules demanded as the royal message was quickly sent by one of his servants while he sat on his throne along with his family he was also angry and worried for Sonic with Allena trying her best to calm her husband's nerves

Allena: think logically honey, there must be a reason why he would take Maurice and not Manic or Sonia

Jules: I don't know what the reason is, but the guards that was there manage to see Sonic going with him willingly. I had a funny feeling when Shadow arrived that he was here for something and that something was my own son!

Allena saw the worried expression on her husband and her other two children, knowing that Sonic was someone that can take care of himself and has been separated by his family before, she didn't feel as if Sonic would be in any serious danger

Allena: cheer up honey, I already sent an old friend to retrieve are son back and it won't be long till he get's there

Jules: an old friend? and who would that be

Allena: someone that also happens to owe Sonic a big favour himself, so relax for now. if anyone can bring our son home, it would be him

as the family was trying to reassure themselves that Sonic will be home soon, someone was at the gates of their home demanding to see them with news that would change the family thoughts for the worst

 a few days later in the dark kingdom:

Shadow was in his office and has just finished with the days work when he asked Silver how Sonic was while Rouge stand guard next to him

Shadow: he settled in nicely and I honestly thought he would get home sick and want to go home but no luckily, he just been out and about exploring the realm

 Silver: yes he seem to be doing well and even got to know the servant's as well as myself and Rouge. he is a very curious kid

Shadow: that he is, but one thing that has been bothering me is that he hasn't gone into the city yet. all he's been doing is talking to me or asking me to show him around verist parts of the land

Silver: do you want me to tell him to not bother you your highness?

Shadow: no, I don't mind since it gives me a break from this office for a while

there was a knock on Shadow door with it opening as Sonic head appeared with a big smile on his face, hiding something behind his back

Sonic: yo, shads. got a minute 

Shadow: come in, what is it that you need me to show you?

Sonic rushed in and showed Shadow the poster that he had behind him that he saw, scattered outside the city, stating that it was the day they all have a beer festival.

Sonic: I head from my maid Amy that every year everyone wear a mask and party though out the day, trying all kinds of beer and food 

Shadow: yes and I guess you want to go then I won't stop you 

Sonic: actually, I was hopping you can come with me and show me around the city wearing one of these

Sonic placed a masquerade mask on Shadow's desk as he try to convince the king more

Sonic: no one will be able to recognize you and it will get you out of the castle and have some fun for once, what do you say. you wanna go with me and have some really fun?

Silver: he can't go, he's the king and he will be around all the drunken commoners

Sonic: oh he will be fine, since he will be with me. I can deal with the drunks if I have to

Silver: I don't think it suitable for the king to...

Shadow: it's fine. I'll go since it's only one day and because I will be with him then I should be fine

Sonic got excited when Shadow agreed, grabbing his hand as he pulled the frazzled king away from the office

Sonic: heh...I knew you would like adventure yourself shads. let's go and see if you got some common clothing to put on so you won't stand out to much

Sonic took Shadow out of the you leaving Rouge and Silver to wounder why Shadow would agree so easily

Silver: I don't get it, why is that I ask him to go somewhere, he tells me to get lost but with Sonic it's different

Rouge: maybe you just an't as cute as the kid is and besides....Shadow has never said no to him since he has been here and even had his moods be positive for a change

Rouge said as she went off to do her job and protect the king in the Shadow's while Silver was left to deal with the rest of the remaining paperwork that needed to be sorted

'I guess we all should be thankful that Shadow has some he could smile around......for once's'

just as Shadow and Sonic left walking to the city together, had a message delivered from the light kingdom
